Remote old boys' club
Manager (Former Employee) –  Blue River, BC13 February 2019
Management has either been there forever or only a few years. It's an old boys club. No mid-career people stick around. Lots of turnover.

Very remote. The town is tiny and has no amenities. Buying groceries requires a trip out of town. The highway can be dangerous with trucks and winter conditions.

Poor work culture, below average perks
Sport Shop Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Blue River, BC9 September 2018
I worked in the Sport Shop and Boutique, the pay was a bit better than other jobs in that bracket however living in Blue River is very remote (this was expected) and the perks do not outweigh the negatives. Compared with other lodges the amount of riding is very low, I was one of the best riders and I rode 8 days. The guests expect a lot and the staff are not treated with enough respect.
Pros
some heli skiing
Cons
actually not much

Best place ever, in the Winter !!
IT Manager (Former Employee) –  Blue River, BC16 July 2018
Like a perfect Disney story when all goes well .
Sometimes the rain or the storm gets in the way, but you're still in a fantastic place, few left so genuine close to the Mother Nature

Housekeeping (Current Employee) –  Blue River, BC24 June 2017
if you work here, you will be at least an hour away from any decent shop, although this is a pain the wilderness it offers makes up for it, housekeeping is very boring, although, its a great way to earn money for adventure
