It’s okay. The place can be a bit gloomy. Some of the staff are weird. Not very friendly place to be . Work life balance did not exist. Challenging to book days off.

What is the best part of working at the company?Working in different areas to develop new skills. Very good work environment. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Very busy working. Especially at ER, too many patients to manage. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Very friendly and helpful coworkers. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Very busy but manageable because coworkers are very considerate and cooperative.

Great place to work but sometimes toxic coworkers and management. Lots of things to learn for sure. i recommend this place because it opens doors and opportunities.

Loved the unit I worked on. Unit staff, and the hospital staff in general, were nice and welcoming. Really made me feel like family. Would work here when I become an RN

Great experience

Overall good job on GIM floor. However RPNs basically have the same assignment as RNs. Decent pay with benefits (FT staff). Hard to get vacation requests approved in summer if you’re new staff. Management is friendly and supportive. Easy hiring process.

What is the best part of working at the company?Awesome culture with staff and management. Management promote growth among their employees. Definitely a place to dig your heels in and grow old.What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The distance from my home! Many of us travel from far to be here because it’s so great.What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Top notch…A + environment. Clean environment. Staff culture is positive.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Typical day consists of a 12 hour shift. My colleagues are very supportive and we use a team approach. Doctors are wonderful, personable, very down to earth. Typical nursing work. Day goes by fairly quick.

Good place to work if you don't mind take bus there.

Good working culture and good management. but very inconvenient to drive there. I only work for vaccination clinic there, very friendly staff and support team

The Best Workplace

If you are looking for work in Healthcare, there is no better place than MGH. Management makes you feel the most important person at work, not just Nursing every member of MGH is cared , adored and appreciated for their contribution. If you find a work here you are lucky.

Appreciated by Staff, Not by Upper Management

Good position to gain clerical experience, bonus if you always have healthcare experience. The amount of times that I am interrupted while dealing with issues that are sometimes outside of my scope without compensation or recognition by this hospital is disappointing. I adore my coworkers, but nepotism runs upper management. Despite all the verbal praises, I get nothing from upper management. If you apply for this position, make sure you do not stay for long and that you are working towards something better.

MGH is a great place to start your career, i came in as an Intern and it has been a wonderful experience with the staff as they are always ready to teach and transfer knowledge, the environment is fun to work in and the absence of pressure is a big plus. lots to learn

lot's to learn here as a student. The building itself was very outdated and old. Sometimes it took forever to get hot water out of the taps had to leave running 10 mins at times.

Good workplace

This hospital provides a good working experience. They were caring and attentive during the COVID-19 Pandemic, not forcing us to come in if we weren't feeling well, even if it wasn't COVID we were sick with. Flexible with the schedule, but the lack of consistency in hours was difficult. Overall I enjoyed working here, the staff was nice. Would have loved to have been given more of a chance to move up within the hospital but they provide opportunities based on seniority.

Awfully toxic and outdated environment

Senior nurses are driven by hatred. Very toxic and hostile environment. They bully new hires and give heavier assignment to them deliberately. Technology the hospital adopts is unbelievably outdated, forcing nurses to work in an inefficient manner.

Overall great place to work, friendly staff for the most part, nice environment, sense of job security, food onsite. Like any hospital shifts are long and at times staffing issues or a larger workload with no breaks. There could be improvements everywhere in Ontario in terms of workload for healthcare workers so this is not a stand alone issue for MGH.

Very close knit community

I was a screener at Michael Garron, it was an easy job, I enjoyed it and the people I worked with were friendly. Hardest part of the job was the job security. Every few months, we were uncertain if our job was going to be there for us anymore.
