Commercial electrical apprentice (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB27 June 2018
Just like any other large company. Their pay is good, but there is the problem of lifers really bringing down the moral and productivity. Not great if you want to learn new skills, but great if you are just looking for a consistent paycheck for a few months.

This was a decent company with good working hours. Management varied from site to site. Expectations were hard to follow at times with little feedback.

in this company, I mostly installed electrical fixtures and pulled wire through conduit. I was only here until the completion of the project then was laid off

Management was good, as were the majority of co-workers. The RRSP/Pension plan was pretty weak but better than nothing.

Commercial work which included being around many other trades. Bending pipe and terminating power and lighting circuits were a normal day.

Worked with MCL at the airport for the first 10 months on nights doing the fire alarm upgrade. very well run and very organized.

Great Employer
Apprentice Electrician (Former Employee) –  Leduc, AB29 June 2013
Thoroughly enjoyed working here. Coworkers were friendly and willing to help out. Pay was at the top end of the scale for the industry and job. Benefits and RRSP contributions (both employer and employee). The downside was that once you were placed in a specific job (e.g. inventory), you stayed there and didn't learn much in other areas of the job.
Pros
Benefits, Pay, Coworkers
Cons
Didn't Learn Much
