Work-life Balance

Assembler in Peterborough, ON
on 8 February 2021
not the worst place, could be approved greatly though
i worked here for a year, got along with my peers and didnt mind the work i was doing in the assembly line. there are a lot of guys who have worked there for years and are stuck in old ways, trying to make a difference in that sense was useless. management could be a lot more interactive with employees but they are alright
Welder/Fitter in Keene, ON

Eh it’s ok
My 9 years at McCloskey were alright. I’ve seen alot of people come and go. I’ve seen many people quit before first break on their first day. Some people can handle the work some can’t. I really don’t understand why someone on here thinks a welding shop would have AC haha the air quality is cloudy just like every welding shop out there so again crying over nothing, at least they have fume extractors in every area how many companies in Ontario can say that. It is a good place to work they do not keep slackers so if you get in and work hard and be proficient you will do well. Management is ok not perfect work hard and you’ll have a job just like anywhere else haha I would go back if they’re going to hire welders again
Hydraulic assembler in Keene, ON
on 30 October 2020
Would recommend!
Ran hydraulic lines here for almost 10 years, on the screener line. I love the people who I left behind there from co workers to management right up to inside the office. People say this place has a high turn over rate, but these people who are hired and fired usually aren't to sure how to put a days work in. Would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for work.

Little Brains Club
I single-handedly increased the safety standards of my assembly line in terms of jack-stands and working under heavy loads; provided my own necessary PPE to protect myself from hazards that the ”supervisor” (pro-smoker) would love to pretend don’t exist. So obviously I was sent out the door, despite having learned everything, getting along great with everyone, providing more tools than most, etc. This is a company for white collar people, mushroom management, the workers are not appreciated in the slightest, and the company wouldn't last a minute without ‘em. Hopefully this company will crumble and these jerks will have to go find work. Now owned by the Finnish, but not the good Finnish, the rejects.

They want slaves
Company paid well, but initially you were just a number. No care for safety or personal issues. I was harassed right out the door by a manager after 7+ years, HR didn’t do anything to help. Steer clear!

They asked simple questions like do you work on your own vehicle and have you welded using metal core wire. after the HR portion, you do a weld test in all positions using metal core wire.he interview was very relaxed
