Good workplace, management is bad
Can be fun depending on the people, co-workers are fun to work with and talk to. Bad management and will only advance in the job if you’re the manager’s favourite. Good starter job, but definitely not good for a long time.

Fun but stressful
I worked here back in 2021. Management was really kind understanding of new employees. I was told to just take my time and do things at my own pace for the first few weeks. It’s relatively easy and fun, but can get quite stressful during peak hours (usually during typical meal times). I personally really enjoyed working in the kitchen making burgers. It takes a while to memorize all the toppings for each burger, however, once you remember them, they’ll stick with your forever! I still haven’t forgotten how to make a McChicken or a Big Mac. After peak hours, it does get pretty boring. I personally would wipe things down and mop or sweep the floors to pass time while waiting for orders to come in. If you’re on closing shift, you may be the only one working the kitchen, and if a large order comes in, it can get quite stressful. There are many Indian people working there who will talk in their language, usually bad mouthing other employees, however they are very kind to you when you work with them.

Not bad
This is a good job for students as they are flexible with hours and booking time off. Is a good way to get work experience and has some opportunities for advancement through management.

Only decent for high school students
Working at McDonald's as a first job is beneficial as it provided me with real-life skills. Being able to be a team leader, effectively work in a fast paced environment and multitask daily. Although it benefits new comers into the workforce, I do not think it would provide any stability or joy for anyone else. Tasks and duties get repetitive and there is no chance/worth for job advancement.

Good for a first job, bad for long term.
I’ve had 4 years experience at Mcdonald’s and of course all locations are different so I can only speak for mine. But at first it was a good part time job for me in high school and during University, but once our management changed it completely flipped everything upside down. No managers really take their employees seriously, and really only care once you put in your two weeks to quit. It’s become so much about times more than the quality of the food too, which is a huge problem. My mental health has dropped so much over the past two years because of the changes that have happened, I feel like I cannot trust the managers like I used to. The only thing that’s worth going to work for is the money and the few friendly coworkers that you could possibly be scheduled to work with.
