Reasonable warehouse to work at

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I’ve worked at matrix for 8+ years now. The first 5 years of my employment I picked/drove a walkie and had a rare opportunity once in a while to assist with loading, receiving, fresh and frozen(when it existed at dc20). I only had opportunity to move up from picking/case selector once all of the automation had come in. I will say that this company has done a tremendous job at weeding out most of the inappropriate managers/TLs and team members. There’s little drama if you stick to your function and actually work. Communication is matrix’s biggest downfall, or has been. There have been vast improvements surrounding this warehouse and communication but there are also subjects/topics that are ignored or not discussed. As a team member I’ve trained many Team leaders in my department to help them be familiarized with a general understanding of the department and it’s unfortunate to say but not one of them has taken pride in managing/delegating work in a fair and consistent manner. You will be forgotten about if you do not make yourself known. If you’re a work horse and have good work ethic you can go far if you voice your skill set and desire though. There was a huge influx of FATL, TL, operations manager positions when the automation came in. However, Advancement within the company is probably going to be slowing down and you’ll likely be in your role as a team member for a long time.Training is incredibly fair in my opinion and this company has taken steps in the right direction to make sure that suitable people(trainers) are actually training new hires. There’s in class/practical -

Room for Growth

I began as an order picker and worked my way up to operator over a few years. For an entry level position the pay and benefits are great. Lots of room for advancement.

Good job

Good job that pays well with lots of benefits. There are opportunities to develop inside the company and you see day going by fast working there. Would recommend.

Corporate takeover on the way

Stressful and mismanaged. They care more about employees logging into a labour management program than they do about safety and job performance. Overhiring on purpose to VTO certain shifts daily.

nightmare workplace

The team leads push far more than the employees can handle. They preach safety is always first but they ask for more. Very stressful, no respect. If you happen to make a mistake they punish you for it but cutting your hours or send you home with no pay. This company is all about the people in office and that's about it. Please look else where for work. DON'T WORK HERE. Also they keep you one until your 3 months is up and them make something up to let you go...

Pros

none

Cons

Management only cares for Management...

Good workers/management alright pay, lack of training

Logistics industry is gonna be all electronic/ai in the next few decades there isn’t definite job security. The training was lacklustre and I would hate to be a beginner in warehouse work here because I had to learn a lot by myself and use info from prior workplaces.

Pros

Friendly, Clean facility

Cons

Long hours, lack of training

Not worth it

I was working at this job for a couple months and let me tell you it was probably one of the worst jobs I’ve been at. The management here are horrible and don’t know what they’re doing half the time, they will use and abuse you until they find a replacement. Strict rules and stressful environment with lack of pay and management gets mad easily about anything you’re constantly on edge.

Pros

None

Cons

Stressful environment, poor management

People are fun

25 years of service in the warehouse and the pay and benefits are amazing compared to other jobs at the same standard, if you want a higher pay for warehouse work then I strongly recommend sending your resume

Pros

High pay, friendly team members, many incentives such as gift cards, gifts golfing and so on

Great place to work

Great place to work. Great environment, great leadership, great training, and they ensure you know your job and can perform it safely before sending you on your own

Stressful and frustrating workplace

Treating people like animals. Pushing workers for percentage, no training about working safety. Heavy lifting the more you give the more you become unappreciated and the more they used and abused you. And whenever management can’t get to used you they replace you.

Pros

Lunch on site

Cons

Can’t trust anyone/ management

Great place

Although I am through prodigy recruiting,, and work is temporary with them, it's still a nice place to work. I always look forward to going back when prodigy messages me asking me if I am available. Definitely enjoy the afternoon shift more .

Competitive but family friendly work place.

As a new employee it was very difficult to adapt to the work environment and conditions, the management was very strict and a bit push based especially in warehousing 10 ( order picking) but is the department you must begin with as a new employee . Things started getting better as I moved to a new department ( receiving department) I actually enjoyed my stay with my new supervisor.
