Awful place to work, zero respect for their workforce.

CNC Machinist/Operator (Current Employee) - Sunderland, ON - 11 September 2023

This company was one of the worst I have ever worked for. The pay was way below average and the benefits were extremely lackluster. The production manager of the shop routinely threatened to terminate people whenever a mistake occurred. In my time working there I've witnessed several people get terminated with zero notice including one being let go for applying to a competing shop. You're expected to work overtime and will be written up if you do not comply. During my time there it was made clear that they will always have staffing issues due to their location and treatment of staff so it is fair to say you will be working twice as hard for half the pay. No respect was given and there were zero opportunities for advancement. We were all promised bonus's but after working there for years I have received nothing. The work environment is very hostile with older co-workers openly berating you for any mistake. It is a very high stress environment and in my opinion it is not worth the very minimal pay they offer.

I started back in May 2021 and haven't looked back since. I love the day to day challenge and the people I work with. Lots of opportunity in such a young company. Plenty of support when needed and just overall a very pleasant place to work. I highly recommend working here!

terrible place for outsiders

Dont know where to begin. much congested and thus less safe. very limited lifting equipment, allmost all the tasks require heavy back breaking manual labour. wage is fair but commuting would burn that up just as fast as gasoline. Overtime is expected just like part of the job. outsiders should stay clear in my opinion since wont feel that they belong. since my first day they would track the cycles and ask to hit physically impossible target just to justify their alleged math. small company in terms of equipments for ease by cormporation when comes to the employees tracking.

Good workplace

I was welcomed I to the Matchtech family November 2021 as a CNC Machinist. I am very happy with the work the we do here. I find that everyday presents new challenges and the team work well together to solve problems. This company is not afraid of utilizing technology, and actively looks for better ways to manufacture products. Management is easy to work with and the commute is not to bad. Highly recommend working here.

I joined the Matchtech team in the office about 3 years ago and I love it here! It’s always neat to see what they are making on the shop floor. The bosses are great to work for and I feel that we have a great team in the shop. Working in the beautiful town of Sunderland is a nice bonus!
