Millwright in Saskatoon, SK

Good environment in the shop.
Maintenance team was good a little clicky but if you have an open mind you well be ok..Big companies have issues with being top heavy in my experience. Some slackers in the union environment cause this I believeLots of cameras.Lots of hours in busy season.Overall great place to work Good pay.Food safety is top priority. They use to order in a hot lunch if you work 4 hours overtime.New plant manager decided that a hungry man was a great way to save money! There was a ton of other ways to save money in the shop.In my opinion you don't save money buy putting camera s in and then cheap out on a simple 15 dollar meal. That's bean counters for ya

Management was treated well but the general staff treated very poorly
Management is very unorganized and afraid of being fire so they backstab each other and at the same time pretend to be each other’s best friends....very toxic place to work.

Not fun
They dont pay goodNot worth the stress of what u have to do! Management has no idea what they are doing, alot of bullying goes on, nothing gets done. They favor certain people! Not very organized at all!

General Labourer in New Hamburg, ON
on 9 February 2021
Oppressive environment full of sad people
Management is a joke. Workers voice their concerns, and they say they're going to address them, but nothing ever happens. They're more concerned with making all the stuffy office workers happy, and letting the workers on the floor suffer. Start times are all over the place, ranging anywhere from 6am to 10am, and don't even bother requesting days off, you won't get them. Pay is more than minimum, but that's the only thing that will keep you there. Everyone working there is either bitter, sad, or too old to change careers. Best job in there is going with the delivery drivers, as you don't have to be in the plant. Deliveries range from 20min drives, all the way up to 8hr roundtrips. New workers also get forced to work Wednesday (non production day), which is a 5am start, moving eggs around in the refrigeration area. Don't work here, everyone in the area knows that.
