Awesome place to work with amazing co workers

Indeed featured review

Working at Mackenzie health in the IT departments is a lot of fun. You get to work in every room of the hospital and most people treat you like royalty since they love having someone fix their tech issues. All in all great place to work amazing work life balance and a positive work environment.

Avoid working here

Im not sure why Mackenzie health has some good reviews maybe they were paid to say that. I worked there for two years and it's not worth it! The hospital pays people based on statitatory holiday prorated, so if you work an eight hour shift you only get paid for three-five hours. In certain departments they break regulation. The hospital is disorganized. The people are uneducated. I advised people if working here don't socialize with anyone and try finding another job as fast as you can.

Supportive team, management could use some work

Worked here for 2 years and counting. Teammates are super supportive, help where they can. Hospital itself is beautiful and completely upgraded. Management is hit or miss with many issues. Overall an ok place to work

If you like mushrooms this is the place to be!

Just do your work with no expectations. Also check your paystubs. Based on my experience it never adds up. I do not know if MH outsources the payroll department. One of the most toxic working environments -- ever! They never pay for OT and you have to fight tooth and nail to get it but they give you the more job responsibilities for the same pay. Do not even bother with management -- they are clueless and my co-workers are the laziest that you will ever come across. They do their minimum workload but complain about how underpaid they are. Thankfully I left. Lesson learned these are not the type of people that would seek to work with and not the corporate culture that would ever work for again. Management feeds you $%#^ and keep everyone in the dark.

Avoid if you can

Hard to take time off, there is no work life balance. Have to tap your card to sign in to enter or leave the building for your time card. Very strict with everything wouldn’t recommend.

Pros

12 hr shifts

Cons

No work life balance

Good staff, but not enough of them

Good, caring staff but continuously understaffed. Many tired and burnt out colleagues, means the department are always stretched for resources. Too many compulsory weekend shifts means people will eventually leave and find work elsewhere.

Poor management and lack of support

This place was the poor management. Short of staff most of time. Heavy assignment. Not safety place to work. dThe ratio of nurse 7: 1 at times. No good team to help each other.

Politics, Workplace culture

The equipment is old and always malfunctioning. Management does not care about the staff. Would never get your desired time off. Understaffed. High volume, always extra tasks added on.

Great benefits

Workplace is chill and people are calm. I'm happy that I can pick up shifts when they're short. Management is great. They appreciate the workers. They offer benefits even though you're still a permanent part-time worker.

Nice Workplace

Great Work place for an RPN. I learned lots of skills working here. Managers are great in my unit. Great Technology. I enjoyed working here. I would recommemd working here.

Stressed and unorganized

Stressed and unorganized. Push more and more on the staff with little resources available. Management are just concerned about reaching maximum capacity for the units and provide no help or little resources.

Toxic Work Environment

Definitely not a place if you are looking to grow or work in a team environment. Management is not supportive or makes any changes to correct anything. Favouritism is a key way to get what you want out of management and if you don’t suck up then you don’t move up.

Pros

Early shifts

Cons

Long hours, no support, under paid, no appreciation, no lunches breaks, work overload

Good employer

It is good place to work. However, lately there is a lot of shortage and it makes it difficult and challenging to work. Overall, if full time the benefits are good.

No work life balance

Constantly running around, working. Little to no approved time off. Good co workers, management is not too bad. Need to be good in communicating with patients .

Standard hospital

Typical hospital environment, mainly just your coworkers that keep you sane. Work life balance is difficult with shift work. Understaffed, high patient ratios.

Service Desk Analyst

If you are on time, do your work and are easy to get along with, there will be opportunities for growth depending on your manager and attitude. Workplace culture is fast-paced and involves learning quickly.
