So glad to be working at Macdon and i’ll be more than happy to go back anytime. I shall be grateful should they allow me to re-apply and get hired. Its really a fun and safe environment to work while enjoying unlimited opportunity to improve your skills.

Ok place to work once you get permanent
Long probation period 15 months risks of layoffs no benefits for 15 months rotating shifts work not that boring at times .Poorly disorganized waiting days for parts.

Stressful
Stressful environment. Unfair treatment of the supervisors. If you’re not part of their circle, chances are you won’t get promoted. You will beg for your holidays.

Terrible company to work for
In the warehouse. they expect you to break your back for a McDonalds wage. Raises are are a joke and you are lucky to get a dollar raise in 5+ years. That being said, a fresh employee is within 2 dollars of a employee that has worked there for over 5 years.

Top company in Winnipeg in certain aspects.
I always knew about MacDon throughout my career as a welder, although I never applied as a rotation of days, evenings and midnights every 2 weeks was a huge turnoff for myself. Upon finally making the decision to apply with them, it has been absolutely great so far. I was lucky and got a great lead hand and supervisor with a good group of coworkers. Welders are in a "production welding" environment, there isn't any kind of layout or fitting involved, everything is done in jigs. Which is fine, but I think it's suited well for welders who are just starting out or for people who enjoy this type of work. You can often complete the daily quota before your shift is over which then you will do nothing the rest of the day. There is also days where you have no parts, and will spend the whole day or a good part of it waiting around. They have the highest end welding machines in most bays, which is very nice and they make it very easy for welders to make nice beads. Tools and PPE are always available, which is nice. They have a cafeteria on day shift, and lots of lunch rooms and washrooms everywhere. The downside for me is probation is in terms and will probably take up to 2 years to complete if they have steady work but if you make it they ha e the best benefits I've ever seen.As with any job there is pros and cons, but MacDon has more pros. An absolutely great place to work.
