Good work environment, but lacks recognition of employees
Gameplay Programmer (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC29 July 2018
Good work assignments, fun and challenging work to do (WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE COM ADDED TO YOUR HANSOFT??) smart management, extreme Montrealic passion for hockey.

The managers try to keep you busy but they tend to lack ability to express appreciation for work done and tend to avoid socializing with employees who are not also management. The result a huge divide between the management and the other employees. When you get your Friday salad, management eats together and the other employees are not expected to join them. Management should socialize more regularly with other employees.

Management doesn't seem to want you to speak during meetings, only listen.

You may not suck at hockey, even if your sport is chess/Warcraft.

8 hour work day but lunch hour is not included.

They seem to dislike to lose employees to other companies and when contacted for reference after I resigned they ignored me.

If you have other options in the game industry I would say consider them deeply before trying to work at Ludia. Their salaries are not as high as other places for similar positions in the game industry, and I guess this is because of HOW some of their games make money (pay to "speed up" etc)
Pros
good assignments, fun work to do, clever managers, salads
Cons
management tends to ignore managed, lack of appreciation and recognition of work, lack of socialization of managers with managed

Great culture, great projects
Graphic Artist, Mobile Game, Tablets (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC15 November 2017
Ludia is a video game company located in the beautiful Old Montreal. It is also its own community; employees are called "Ludiens" because they are all treated like family. Beside making great award winning games, Ludia really cares about their employee and well beings; adding all the basics and extra benefits, their "spoiled" their staff with free breakfast, party, dinners, events, activities and free stuff... Working mostly on big licenses project, artist sometimes long for more artistique challenges creatively and original IP.

Customer Support Representative (Former Employee) –  Montréal, QC1 November 2015
Decent job culture with a great team to work with, just don't expect to introduce new ideas or changes unless it involves the party planning committee. Management can be extremely set in their ways. You will not be able to re-invent Freemium into something good here, but you will be able to enjoy the decent office space that this questionable practice has paid for. Watch out for the HR personnel, who have a habit of negatively gossiping to other employees about your personal, family, medical or other situations.
Pros
Free salad and coffee
Cons
Gossipy human resources personnel.
