Department Manager (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 9 August 2018
I love everything about Lowe’s except scheduling. Your availability has to be 5 am- 11 pm everyday. Lots of closing and opening at the next day, you won’t get enough rest. One day work as opening the next mid or closing. Once an while you get weekend off.
Fun workplace which offers variety and a space to meet and help new great people in the world.
Cabinet Sales Specialist (Current Employee) – Brantford, ON – 28 March 2018
It is a nice place to work, it's social and it has a lot of variety. I like that I get to meet new people and help people every day. I have been there for 8 years and our management pretty much leaves us to do what we know how to do which is great. We have a good team that is helpful, and there is always something to do.
PSA (Current Employee) – London, ON – 23 March 2018
Management is pretty good, Good Knowledge of what hey do. Typical Day at work is checking EMS tasks and then working on Planograms that need to be done that week. Workplace culture is pretty good, most people seem happy and content with that they do.
Assistant Store Manager (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 22 March 2018
Productive and fun workplace. Everyday is different, typical day at work starts with your walk to your department, make sure you do your daily 8's, and then prioritize work load base on your daily 8's walk without sacrificing Customer Service as your priority.
Multiple staff lunches celebrating many workers events
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Barrie, ON – 13 March 2018
Anytime it was a staffs birthday, or celebrating annual accomplishments, there was always food in the lunch room. However, you always worked longer hours than scheduled, with absolutely no added benefits
Sales Specialist (Former Employee) – SHERWOOD PARK AB – 12 March 2018
Started when store was being built.. Hard work but was able to get a fair bit of exercise. Lots of standing . Tried to transfer to red deer store but they did not hire me as I took approved/ un paid time off.
Product Service Associate (Former Employee) – Lethbridge, AB – 6 March 2018
Management was alright didn't agree with a few of them but that isn't uncommon. But to the point of being told that i had to change my personality because it offended adults that i worked with was something else.
Sales Specialist/Department Manager (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 5 March 2018
This was my first retail job. I never worked for a box store before. I love working at Lowe's (and still do), the people I work with make it fun to come in every day. After working there for 7 years, I have found that Management only sees the people beneath them as expendable and easily replaceable, whether you have experience or have been there for a long time or are brand new. There are people there that have given more than they should and are treated like they still have to earn their place, while others coast along with no repercussions not doing their job. I am sure favoritism is in nearly all stores on some level, but was disappointing to see first hand. If they feel you are too good in your department, you are moved to another because they don't want you to be too comfortable.
