Lumber associate (Former Employee) – Pickering, ON – 13 February 2018
would have to re organize all the skids of wood and pull them forward on top of having them evenly stacked. I was quick to pick on the different types of wood so that i could better aid customers on their projects and make sure best customer satisfaction. I also had to operate the cutting machines and branched out to other departments when needed. The overall environment was nice also because i knew some of my colleagues before working there but the hardest part of the job would be when we had to help pick orders because of the size order, overall tho i enjoyed the job because most of the people were really friendly and i learned quite a bit working there.
Met a many people in an industry I was interested at the time

Best staff to work with. Upbeat friendly environment. Great support and encouragement. Fun atmosphere. Great opportunities to troubleshoot, learn and grow. Love the challenges, and feeling of accomplishment.
Pay, friendly environment, great staffing.
changing shifts too often, going from days, to afternoons to nights in the same week.
Supervisor/Key Holder (Current Employee) – Whitby, ON – 11 January 2018
Working at Lowe's will teach you patience and test it daily. There are many opportunities to learn about the retail industry in this big box store. Managers are often mentors to staff. You will need to work as a team often and depend heavily on communication to ensure the customers get their product and leaves the store happy.
Good starter job for students in post secondary or out of high school, You learn how to handle conflict professionally.
Product Support Associate (Former Employee) – Lowe's Brampton – 7 January 2018
Not a bad place to work, people are friendly, there is room for advancement, but the pay is minimum and slightly above. There is a lot of cronyism between friends and it is difficult to get into an area that you really want.
Head Cashier (Current Employee) – Cornwall, ON – 7 January 2018
Decent place to work the staff for the most part are supportive & friendly great people to work with. Clean and organized environment. Learned a lot about customers and how particular/difficult some can be.There is a lot of running around involved because it is such a large store.
Head Cashier (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 20 December 2017
the staff was friendly and very easy to get along with. customers were friendly. Management was always changing. Communication was poor between the managers. They said when i was hired they were understanding when kids get sick but 5 years down the road the new management was not.
Well integrated, performance oriented and customer driven approach
Kitchen specialist (Former Employee) – Brampton, ON – 19 December 2017
Lowe's has a congenial workplace environment with an exceptional customer oriented approach. It has a well balanced competitive atmosphere which enables the associates to deliver their best as per the customers needs and expectations. Living up to the expectations of the customers and delivering the promised services is challenging, but at Lowes we endeavor for excellence
Customer Service Associate (Current Employee) – Maple, ON – 19 December 2017
I only look forward to going to work for the people. The job itself is okay, its not the greatest for the pay. Management treats you like a number that can be replaced, they give the weak workers chance after chance but give the hard workers a difficult time for small errors. They'll ask you to do a lot of favours for them but when it comes down to you asking for a favour, its like the world is going to end for them. Sometimes, you just have to wonder why management keep certain people around even though they've been pretty much useless. All in all, its a "JOB" just over broke, and not a career. It pays for bills and school and thats pretty much it.
Enjoyed being part of the new store opening in Barrie, working from the ground floor up.
Department Manager (Former Employee) – Barrie, ON – 7 December 2017
Long hours yielded satisfaction when able to solve a customer's problem, advancement was attainable, team was great to work with. Hardest part was dealing with disgruntled customers. Management was all over the place, no continuity in their policies.
Loader and Electrical (Current Employee) – Maple, ON – 5 December 2017
Decent work environment, work culture was great, management not so much. Management are not even well educated on their own products or aware of the location of products. Ignorant to the fact all employees should be well educated and informed on the department they will be working in. Leave most employees on the working floor to fend for themselves. Asking for a raise or a review on work progress is almost in possible, especially when managers come and go.
Good for those in school
not the fairest or most competitive places to work
