Truck driver AZ March 2019
Job isn’t too hard load/unload yourself plenty of walking. Management tells after been hired to fill an afternoon spot ,your going to train on nights and weekends for the next month. If they had of been honest and told from beginning I wouldn’t waste time. Don’t want to work nights or weekends!! Sad trick people into a job........

Contiunes working and fast paced
Its fun working there, a fast-paced environment with very low job security. it was a proper dress code, the company has taken care of all of our safety. I got flexible hours to work.

Old Fashion, Low Moral, Revolving Door
Cons:
-Terrible management that will literally yell at you or talk to you like you are stupid, especially the afternoon shift management.

-High favoritism, certain workers can do or say anything, even just stand around and laugh with the supervisor about other co workers.

-No work life balance, overtime can be called whenever they want.

Saturdays are horrible almost always 2 hours of overtime, expect to be there 9am-7:30pm

-You can be forced in on your days off literally the day before you are to be off, good luck ever making plans.

-If you request time off it will more than likely be denied. Time off is by seniority, they don't do unpaid time off nor will let you split your vacation so if you want a day off for something you will either have to burn a week of vacation for that day (if you can even get that week) or call in sick.

-Takes 1 year to even get vacation.

-Takes 18 months before you get a raise.

-Unless you have been here 20+ years expect to be forced in to work every holiday

-Management constantly changes rules but only applies rules to certain people, and they really like to give the younger/newer workers a hard time.

-Can be an extremely hot and uncomfortable environment, company is very cheap and will turn on the AC as late into the summer season as possible and off as soon as possible, it becomes extremely hot in there with machines that heat, steam, and iron linen.

-No set program for training it's the will of your trainer what they teach you, most of the trainers are terrible, the good ones stopped training because of management.

-If you don't

Just another number/driver
If you hit a lot of things, like hospitals, bridges, loading docks, or other parked trucks etc. Apply here!!! They don’t care and will let you have a min of 6 incidents in 8 months and not fire you. Management are to concerned about writing the good guys up that refuse overtime as it’s not mandatory but demanded you work it in a recorded message. Union tells them they’re wrong but they play by their own set of rules. I was there about 1.5 years and they always have been hiring (that speaks volumes on its own). They have no good set procedure when short staffed, except to depend on the the drivers that already work full-time. Hard for management to think outside the box and be creative. The parking lot is a disaster to move a transport around, sure It can be done, but you will be frustrated. Calls in the middle of your night when sleeping to come in for extra work constantly, management doesn’t care about you they only care about linen being delivered. You were warned!!!
Pros
Other drivers
Cons
You’re just a number

Hard physical work but easily done
Lhls is overall a great place to work as a driver depending on what you're looking for and how you're treated by certain supervisors and management.
If you have a steady run it makes your day run smoother, and you'll get a better understanding of where the customers want carts placed, and where you'll be picking the soiled linen up.

On the other hand, if you're a relief driver your schedule could turn in to a headache. Short notice calls to cover sick drivers or no hours at all except for Saturday mornings.

The other drivers are great to work with, and will try to give you a few tips for making your round trip easier on your back or less stressful in general.

If you have a maintenance issue with your truck it is fixed right away. That includes a non working a/c!

Direct supervisors of the drivers are rarely aware of or care about how much extra work is dumped on the drivers as long as it gets done.

If you're lucky enough to get a steady route that you love, you will most likely lose it the following Oct. Every year the routes are redistributed by senority.
Pros
Steady work unless relief, equipment maintained, friendly coworker's
Cons
Management out of touch, will lose steady work with little or no notice

If you like to be treated like a kid LHLS is for you!
Stay clear of this company!!! Horrible upper management team that treats employees under them like a number and not people. They also have no idea how important good moral is to keeping a business successful. Management should all be fired!!!
Cons
Bad management!!

Clean and healthy work environment. Worked part-time there and supervisors are very cooperative and supportive. Physical work is required but enjoyed working there.

Productive, Good and Secure Workplace
I take clean linen from conveyer belt and feed dryer machine.

My Canadian experience includes working in a physically demanding job at Canadian Linen doing hospital laundry and despite a heavy course load at school I have never been late or missed a day of work.
