I love this place, and I learn a lot from it every day, however,
The salary is low compared to tasks performed.
Busy, fast moving environment but you will always find people to help.
Pros
Best environment and teamates.

The photo lab was slow most of the year, but this allowed time for professional development. Scheduling was very flexible and the management was really good about following my availability.

Good hours for the Christmas season and they hire more staff then come February have no hours to give out. They give out hours to those they like rather those who can actually do the complete job.

Some of the lowest wages in BC for ph, schedule given two weeks at a time making it hard to make plans, good luck ever getting a raise!

Head office completely disconnected from stores, expect you to put in extra effort for no raise/incentives.

-Super slow/busy times alternating throughout the day
-It's retail so expect shifts all over the place if you're a teen - otherwise they tend to give more of what you want

-They'll hire basically anyone

-You're likely never to get fired (but be prepared for only a couple 4-5 hour shifts every 2 weeks)

-Really easy to climb that job advancement ladder (but be transferred to another store)

-Some very questionable people in management positions

-The only thing that keeps you sane is talking to other like-minded coworkers

-Health benefits are hard to get approved for
-Raises are per amount of hours worked

I would not recommend working for this company. Low pay, raises based on hours worked, favouritism, module training, outdated technology, buy your own uniform, bullying, harassment, disrespect, drama, no recognition, no support from HR, Christmas parties paid for out of your pocket, supervisors on power trips, discrimination.

Pay is below average for pharmacy. Work/life balance is poor, they only offer part time to start, where you could work anywhere from 12 to 40 hours per week.Health benefits do not start right away. Good job security, I guess that’s good if you’re mediocre at your job?

Not a bad place to work part time, but you generally don't get enough hours to live on. You'll need another job somewhere else too. A lot of staff I know, including myself, were employed at multiple locations, which makes scheduling virtually impossible for management.
Corporate really doesn't care in the least about either the staff or customers. If you go out of your way to help someone you'll probably get in trouble, especially if they fill out one of those 'rate your experience' cards. Basically skate by on the minimum and don't get noticed if the best advice I can give.
Pros
You may get enough hours to not end up homeless.
Cons
Random scheduling ranging from 48 hours to 0 hours any given week.

Photocounter, Electronics, AVS and computer department will be merged into TECH. 3-4 departments under 1 paygrade. The only pay raise you'd get is when minimum wage increases.

All the extra benefits of being an employee of London drugs help with making it an amazing place to work, but the best part is that management is easy to talk to and if you need time off for mental health, they give it to you.

Alot of favortism within this company.. they do not offer full time hours because they might have to pay you benefits. But then they want you work 40 hours because of staff shortage. But still no offer of paid benefits. Pay is very low . No bonus or even a box of chocolates for employees at Christmas. Super cheap owners. They do offer 20% discount on reg priced items. Big deal.

Great company to work for. The management and coworkers are awesome to work with every day. Salary and benefits are great and there is always room to advance in the company if that is your desire. The only drawback with this company is (as many companies are) that you are had pressed to get decent hours which makes it really had to meet financial obligations. They will however work with and around your schedule if you have another job or commitments/appointments etc....

If you’re a pharmacy assistant, don’t expect a decent wage here. They pay the pharmacy staff the same amount as the front store cashiers. There are a lot of politics in the store and the pharmacy. The managers will give and take away your hours and give the good shifts to their favourite employees. The pros to working here are the staff, the patients that you get to help and it is busy, in a fun way. If you are looking for an entry level position in pharmacy to gain experience this is a good place to start but I dont recommend it for long term. The wage for pharmacy assistants caps at $19/h and it would take a long time working there to make that. The company makes you pay $50 to go to their Christmas party and they only hire pt staff so they don’t have to give you benefits even if you’re working full time hours.
Pros
The patients, staff
Cons
Inconsistent hours, no benefits, politics

Not physically exhausting, but can be extremely mentally exhausting
Some staff members are too rude to be working there
Overall, a good job. But for someone in university not a permanent career

Employees are very nice. Whenever I need help, they'll gladly show me how to do it. However, the pay is barely above minimum wage. Also, you mostly stand in one place to do the job so it's harder to know your products places (when customers ask)
