Decent pay, good people

Indeed featured review

Working here for 4 years was a good time, I made many friends who worked here. Unfortunately I left because you lose all seniority if you gotta go part time for school.

Good job bad Managers

The coworkers and work itself is good and fine, but the managers in produce and the store managers are incredibly disrespectful and hard to communicate with

if you do not keep getting 95% and above you might face resignation or worse termination. pay is good through everyone disregards safety . if order is ridiculously large numbers go down

Good working enviornment

It is a good place if you are looking for part time jobs. Lack of growth an development opportunities because of the management. Some of the staff members were supportive .

lieu de travail

ordinaire, aucun avancement de disponible, gros roulement d'employé, salaire très bas, vous êtes un numéro, aucune valorisation, ils vont vous utiliser et vous jeter.

Men-dominated, antiquated corporate structure that only cares about profits.

What is the best part of working at the company?10% discount on most food itemsWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Being belittled by managers who have little to no formal education (they only have their positions because of seniority); the whole “seniority” culture breeds entitlement issues. Trying to achieve impossible work speed targets. Knowing that management can change your schedule with a day’s notice. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Work environment is top-down, ie. “do what I say or else”. There’s no collaboration or listening to ideas/input from workers. It’s an “old boys club” - women are viewed as inferior and there are no consequences for men that treat women degradingly.

No experience needed

Great place to work as a student with no job experience, with colleagues who support you and show you the ropes. Also, very flexible in terms of hours and shifts with a weekly paycheck.

Pros

Weekly pay, flexible schedule

Cons

Hard work

Chill place

Not anything special really, just another store. It's pretty mind-numbing really—nice enough customers and friendly enough employer. It's pretty average overall.

Not a great place

Not a great place to work with managers that are incredibly micromanaging your every move and asking you for doctors note if you even ask for one day off..

Modern day slave labour

They really expect you to hustle. It's very difficult to start, but eventually you will get used to the grueling conditions and nonstop wear and tear on your body. Hitting daily production goals is pretty much all they care about. The union is useless, and management is even worse. They treat employees like cattle being ushered in to slaughter - the turnover rate is insane. The pay is decent, although the amount of taxes you will pay will barely make up for that.

Pros

It's easy to get hired

Cons

It's easy to get fired

Don’t waste your time.

There is a reason they are always hiring. The management is horrible, if you get hurt at work they will find EVERY reason to fire you. Upon hire I was promised at least 30 hours per week. I was lucky if I even got a shift a month. Half of the union’s colleagues aren’t trained properly and do not care about anyone’s safety and somehow are still working there even after countless warnings and accidents. You will be accused of lying if you do get hurt at work. If you have heat stroke don’t expect them to care they will just send you on your way for the day without getting you medical help. I was told upon hire about the amazing, welcoming environment when it was the complete opposite. The only thing I enjoyed about this job was the break times. Anyway I could go on for days. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND RISK YOUR HEALTH. Wouldn’t want any of my loved ones working here.

Don't Work Here!

Worst thing is the Horrible management. I dont know who allows these people to be Store managers but they are useless!Lazy, Do one bad thing and your on their blacklist for life, Never appreciate the work you do, they dont care about your availability and make you work whenever, bother you when working, and try to manipulate you. You also run risks of working in a hostile environment not just from customers, but co-workers too! And dont forget that useless Union! A Union that is in the pocket of the store managers ;)

Great summer job

Worked here as a student for a summer, they treat their employees great and always try to support local high school kids with jobs. I had proper training and always someone to turn to for help- a great experience in the workforce before starting College.

Just another part time job

I think when it came to the specific store I worked at, they were really great at hiring nice and hardworking people. I had some amazing co-workers that I still keep in touch after quitting. However when it came to department managers and upper management everyone was just so horrible. They will pay you minimum wage while expecting you to do 4 different people's jobs and even if you do "everything" loblaw is not a company where they will ever show you appreciation. They will say you will get all these perks and benefits after working a few months there but they will make it extremely hard for you actually access any of them. Management will go to each department to put pressure on already stressed workers saying how busy and behind we are, then go back to their offices right away to gossip and think of different ways to cut hours. Anyone who has a bit of self-respect doesn't stay in this job for more than a few months, just fyi.

Not worth your health!

Decent pay, benefits, and night premium. Not worth your health and wellness, though. Overstocking shelves, not keeping with sales cap. Don't follow health and safety regulations. Insane workload and no hands on training whatsoever. Lacking in teamwork mindset.

Work elsewhere

I went to work in PC Express as I had previously done other online grocery orders. PC Express is very busy, sometimes hectic and time sensitive. You really have to hustle.Unfortunately there is not a lot of TEAM mentality. This is literally the most toxic work environment I have worked in for minimum wage. Back stabbing, rumours you name it.The management was good but very little they could do.

Pros

Free snacks in the lunchroom

Cons

Short staffed

Easy and fun

It was very fun and easy. The breaks, hours and pays are very fair. I love that you get to meet a lot of people from many places. The management is not always good
