You are always busy

Indeed featured review

On the road constantly. You meet all sorts of people that have houses. Mostly 40 plus clientele. If you like to drive this is a good job as you spend a lot of time in your car. If you can use a tape measure you can do this. Management very supportive.

Pros

bonuses and free breakfast at meetings.

Cons

Long (2 hour) drive to the office for weekly meeting.

Stay far away

I highly recommend to stay far away from working as a sales rep for this company. You will go out of pocket for fuel and every other expenses. Despite, what they tell you about making insane money and sure you will make some pretty awesome cheques…you will also go weeks and months without getting paid. Management has no actual background in the trades for the most part as most are from a sales background therefore your sales often don’t get installed due to lack of intelligence and common sense from the top down. Everyone there are all money hungry hard headed people that don’t care about you or anyone else… just themselves and only themselves. Do not work here and do not believe their non stop lies.

Terrible management in edmonton

Starting out as a instalation subcontractor was easy enough but the headache associated with the installation manager soon became apparent. Through disorganization and not knowing the skill levels of the installers dealing with him quickly became a headache and when things did not go his way he would start to be condescending and just a nightmare to deal with. Couple that with a predatory sales team who take advantage of mostly elderly customers by charging them 30-50 dollars a foot for a product that doesn't live up to the sales pitch, you'll soon start to wonder why you work there at all. considering typical rates for the installers themselves range from $1.50-3.50 a foot the incentive to play along with the con just isn't there.

Pros

Good installation trainer, freedom to work by yourself

Cons

Management lacking organizational and people skills, preditory sales department taking advantage of their customers (mainly elderly), Compensation for work and work expectations do not meet financial incentives.

High pressured sales... only care about achieving targets .. product is bad

Was very excited to start here (they really sell it during the interview).Company does not care about you ... all they care about is the "leads " you get... training is lacking and they only like you if you go over your quota ... high pressured sales... beware!

Your in competition with your own managers

You drive and pitch the product (keep to the script they say), estimate, close in a high-pressure sales environment. 2-4 calls a day rain or shine. Leafilter wants the sales today. Pay is 100% commission only no hourly wage, no gas or vehicle cost coverage. During your call and after your pitch, the sales manager offers discounts during your call that push your commissions to little to none. If it's not sold, managers come in and undersell your call at a lower price and the commission is gone. If you make slight mistakes on your estimate they take heavy commissions off. You will work weekends, evenings, even holidays, and take calls because others quit or don't show. Brown nosers in every group they train. Don't buy equipment for the job, if you do keep the receipts because you will need to return everything later. It's 1 in 100 that make 100k.

Pros

none

Cons

lose money every day if you work here as a sales rep

Go elsewhere

Can't trust this. Pitching product at very high cost first. Then magically finding ways to discount. All at the cost of slashing sales rep's commission. Sleazy former car salesmen managers will say better sell at near-nothing commission than no sale. Managers get their cut and reps get zilch while racking up miles, car water & tear and fuel costs. Once in a blue moon decent commission is not worth all that driving and bargaining.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Long hours, managers slashing commission, etc

A great learning position

This job provided me with valuable experience within the marketing field, as well as the opportunity to engage with many consumers across the province.

Scam

If they have good leads they keep them for themselves. The scam is that you have to give the customer a super high price and then let the consumer work you down to a lower price. By the time the customer agrees to accept a price, it is so low that you get no commission. A lot of the leads are unqualified. Many times there are no leads to go around and you sit by the phone waiting for a call. It's a terrible job run by vacuum cleaner salespeople who are crooks. No professionals here, just misfits and scammers.

Scammy Scam Scam

Decent product, but way overpriced - competing products are 1/10th of the cost. But the real problem is the way they do business. Highly deceptive, dishonest. Not local, not fair, 100% slimy, slimy scam. They will promise you big money, and deliver you sorrow and heartache. Someone needs to shine the light on awful things like this. Deceptive. Low Grade Its like one step up from a mail scam. Id love to pour hours into this review, but that would wasting even more time in this awful experience. The actual $ numbers would make you puke. You're welcome.

Don’t do it! It will cost you money

I worked there for 2 mths, I am a professional sales rep by trade and have not seen such a thing. The send you out to leads that are not even warm. At trade shows they pressure people to give there info and then send a rep to there house to pressure and harass the home owner until they buy the product and or kick you out of the house. It’s a one call close . In the two months I had the most sales and made a total of $2367.98 I spent 1500 in fuel in my own vehicle, long distance calls to the USA with my own cell phone ($746.) 200 on oil changes. You start your sales at $36/Lin foot and you keep coming down till your commission is gone and the home owner buys. Now what they will tell you is it’s better to get a sale then lose a sale even if it means no commission. I now work for a real exterior company and I have sold over $1.5 million in sales this year alone of trough and gutter protection and have made good money doing it, not having to pressure the customer. Stay away they will use and abuse you, kick you to the curb and bring in more people to take advantage of. My entire class of 10 left in the 2 month time frame that’s got to say something about there seedy ways.

Pros

None at all

Cons

Cost you money to work there, high km on your own vehicle, no fuel paid for homeowners will threaten to call the police to get you out of there homes

Please stay away from this company

Do yourself a huge favor and don't waste your time . There are plenty of other great commission sales jobs in th the lower mainland, Vancouver and the island. High pressure sales, total scam for the poor homeowners who fork out the $36 per linear foot and it's just total joke of a company.

Pros

Absolutely Nothing

Cons

I need more than one line and 50 characters

Awesome Opportuntity if you're not afraid to work hard!

This is not a job for everyone. Installers need to take pride in their work and follow the process to minimize quality issues. Don't blame the company for requiring standards. The sales/estimators need to understand the business philosophy of same day sales. Don't blame the company for your inability to sell a customer. Managers, all have strengths and weaknesses, but ultimately are responsible for hitting objectives as set by corporate. This is a $350+ MILLION DOLLAR company, the 5TH largest home renovator in North America.

Pros

flexible schedule, above average income potential.

Cons

Fast paced environent, high expectations.

lots of appointments generated

2/3 of installs never happened because they never have enough installers. The work culture is competitive but not sustainable. Work is non stop. if you like to go like crazy and never stop working this is the best place to work. they fire operation managers regularly.

Pros

lots of appointments

Cons

can't seem to install the sales generated

Obnoxious American High pressure culture

As an event marketer You are asked to basically harass every person that walks by your booth And to continually pressure them to get their name and whatnot for you to pass onto the telemarketing crew. The telemarketers will then set up appointment for an extremely high pressured over priced sales pitch that may work in America but is bothersome for Canadian people. The Product itself is very Creative and looks of excellent quality My problem is of the way it is sold and distributed here in Canada I have also heard many many horror stories from previous customers about after sale service issues as well as from potential customers that had estimates and felt bullied and that the price ( upwards of $30/linear foot) was excessive. NOT Worth the effort to work at this sweatshop

Pros

Quality product for sure

Cons

So many negative and obtuse things.

Do your self a huge favour and stay away from theses clowns!

American company with American job couture. Terrible, terrible management, install managers go to the US. for training ( gutter school ) on how to install gutter protection and also how to maximize profits at all cost. If that means scre...wing the installer, sales reps and the customer over then so be it, it’s all about the money with these guys and believe me it’s all about the money, You’r a absolute nobody in they’r books. They send you to canceled jobs hours away, with wrong colour, Bad info, etc. It’s your loss. They deduct pay with no explanation. Horrible communication and lack of information to get the job done, you figure it out! Constantly on you back to work 24/7, they just won’t stop demanding you working 10-12 hour days, all days. Ps. You are never going to make $1500- 2500 a week when it’s all set and done. Just stay away!

Pros

None

Cons

Pretty much everything

Installing for this company is awesome

I've been installing for leaf filter for about a month and a bit now, though there wasn't much in the form of training, the job is extremely straight forward and pays very well. As long as you cross your T's and dot your i's its a nice stream line gig. The only complaint i would have is some days you have to travel quite far to a job, and though they pay travel, its still very time consuming! Owen sound from London is 3.5 hours both ways, that's almost an 8 hour day in travel alone. As for managers, I see a lot of people complaining about "favorites" but I've noticed as long as you are honest and keep communication open with them they will help you with anything you need. note to those who are complaining; If all you do is complain, would you want to deal with you?

Pros

Work alone, exceptional pay for ease of workload

Cons

Travel, they pay it but you still have to actually do it

Great earning potential

Allows the opportunity to sell the best professionally installed gutter protection system in the market which allows huge earning potential. Issues with installs and getting paid timely

Pros

big pay outs

Cons

waiting too long for pay, poor communication from management.

Do your homework. Could be a company you will stick with if you fit in. This is a high pressure marketing and sales company. Many unhappy customers from my experience.

Pros
