Casual work environment with some very poor management and poor pay structure.The management seems untrained and unskilled.It is a good place to work if you are in between jobs or are starting new in banks.

Processus d'emploi

Nous avions une excellente formation et étant un emplodéroulement processus d'emploii temporaire, on ne savait pas si on allait travailler la semaine suivante. Engagé permanente en 2 ans.obtention certificat de l'institut des Banquiers Canadiens (IBC).(Universitaire) Promotion 1e année de permanence. Garanti d'emploit, bonne rémunération et bons avantages sociaux. Perte d'emploi = fermeture de succ.

Nothing

I had 3 different bosses in the 4 years I worked there. My last manager did not know anything about the industry or the bank's main lines of business. The company is not supportive of women especially if they have to take leave to have children. We would have advisors come in and present on practices that were frowned upon in the industry and no in the best interests of clients.

Bel environnement de travail

Bel environnement de travail, le manque d’employés nous amène à prendre plus d’appel en moins de temps. Aussi au niveau 2 quand vous êtes sur les lignes téléphoniques vous devez gérer toutes les catégories d’appel compte de débit et visa Difficile.

Bonne équipe de travail

Bons avantages sociaux mais remuneration plus faible que la competition. Département des ressources humaines n’ont pas ton bien être a coeur. Ils attendent beaucoup de toi sans en donner en retour. Équipe gentille et collaborative!

ambiance plutôt sympathique

les taches dans cette banque sont plutôt simple à effectuer car il y a si besoin est toujours une personne pour vous épauler .L'ambiance y est plutôt agréable. Point négatif, contrat de travail trop incertain.

Great place to work until the expanded too quickly

The company expanded a little too quickly adding AGF trust and another trust co at the time. I understand that it has improved since things have settled down

Boring

Salaries are low, employees are old and the turnover rate is high. Training is poor and incompetent employees are the ones who stay. I recommend for newcomers who are looking to kick start their career in Canada.

Great team, amazing manager

My manager is very supportive, respectful and encourages growth. The team members are also respectful. I am learning a lot about kindness and respect.

Amazing company to work for!

Great management team! Very collaborative working environment. Good opportunity to climb the ladder. Excellent group benefits. I would highly recommend this workplace to anyone!

People seems not knowing what they are doing.

Too many problems on more than one level. Missing communication between departments, management, front and back office, leads to waste of time, money and energy for everyone. Increase unnecessary stress.

Le salaire était à revoir sinon dans l'ensemble, j'ai apprécié mon expérience au sein de cette boite.

Les journées types se ressemblaient mais j'ai apprécié les formations qui étaient tout de même récurrentes. Mon manager était incroyablement arrangeante. L'aspect le plus difficile du travail était de respecter les délais car nous avions énormément de demandes à traiter. Le plus agréable c'était l'ambiance avec les collègues et mon manager était très cool avec nous tous. Attention cependant au favoritisme de la part de la direction!

Technologie déficiente et pression elevé sur les ventes

La technologie est le problème numéro 1 à la Laurentienne. Les compétiteurs ont des plateformes beaucoup plus avancés qu'à la Laurentienne. Pression de ventes extrême malgré les outils limité. Roulement de personnel extrêmement élevé puisque la compétition offre des produits similaires mais tant sur la tarification que sur les technologies les concurrents font mieux ce qui rends le processus de vente très difficile. De plus, si une vente fini par aboutir la déception est presque immédiate chez le client qui constate qu'une simple transaction (comme l'encaissement d'un chèque) devient un cauchemar. (Le service est sous-traité à GARDA et l'encaissement de loyer chez un client à pris plus de 6 mois et ils ont perdu le chèque en cours de route).Mon avis : Comme 1er emploi... ils vous prendront pour vous donner une chance mais aussitôt que vous avez une opportunité ailleurs il faut saisir l'opportunité pour s'en aller de la BLC. Pour les gens expérimenté mieux vaut s'en tenir loin.

Stressful environment

Alot weighs on the employees shoulders to change, but management is very resistent to change and constantly changing. People in general are nice but new management has the attitude that everyone is replaceable. Lots of discrimination to woman and not supportive of those with disabilities. It was fun to try and change, but hard to get approvals on much needed changes, consultants which made $MM were often the advisors as management preferred to hear about things from the outside vs. thier own people. They did not support or give credit for amazing work, it appears new management had alot of ego - as if they saved the day as the companys efficiency ratio is improving. The hardest part of the job was getting approval and going through too hard processes with PMO office, the most enjoyable was trying to make the must needed changes. The workplace culture is very unique - French English and many different types of business' they throw around the one team slogan but often this meant that core teams were 30 people at a time and tough to move quickly. Management either retired, got fired or went on stress leave and this has been going on for years.

The people were fun to work with lots of unique culture.

Way too long hours, very little credit given for amazing work, leadership changing every month- overall ver stressful.

Environnement de travail malsain

J'étais consultante.La Banque se plaignait chaque fois quand j'étais en retard, même si mon retard était du aux l'autobus pas arrivés et que j'attendais sous la pluie. Après quoi j'avais pris un taxi.Même si le tech lead disait toujours que mon travail est superbe, et que je connais plus que lui, le "Directeur" qui avait l'éducation de l'école secondaire, avait terminé mon contrat.Après ça, les joueurs principales de l'équipe sont partis, et le soit disant "Directeur" à était remercié.

You are working for a Bank - You are a number

If you are new to the financial world, welcome #x . Two years were enough. Laurentian Bank will teach you everything you need to know but the job if VERY redundant. The company won't provide you with equipment to work from home. Very difficult to deal with its customers since most of them want to receive a proper service in French and apparently if you do not speak QC French, it is NOT enough. I wouldn't recommend unless you are looking for a job and can't find anything else. It is a great school, ok benefits and fair pay for what you are actually doing but lots of calls, no idle time, no admin time.

Belle expérience malgré que je travaillais avec la personne la plus jalouse que j'ai connu.

Belle enterprise de petite taille avec valeurs québécoises. Il y a des gens sympathiques Mais beaucoup d'informaticiens font CE qu'ils veulent et non CE qu'ils devraient faire.

Environnement de travail humain , familial et respectueux.

Très difficile d'avoir une vision d'avenir pour cette entreprise. Pas vraiment de direction. Beaucoup de changements plus ou moins positifs depuis une cohabitation...avec la Banque Laurentienne qui n'a pas la même vision du placement et surtout les mêmes formations.Très peu de nouveaux conseillers recrutés.

Petite entreprise, solidarité entre les emplyés afin d'atteindre les objectifs.

Pas de vision long terme... beaucoup de changements dans la direction.

Too many changes throughout my 7 years. Products not attractive

This role I had , suited my lifestyle for a few years. I had a few awesome colleagues and I keep in touch with a few too after I left. My clients liked me but not my products. At times this was embarrassing.

fast paced environment

Overall, a good place to work with an emphasis on fast pace activity. The best part of the job is the building of relationships with the clients. The tough part is doing all the activities expected in a given day (lots of micro management).
