horrible management but fun job
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Honolulu, HI – 9 June 2019
Typical day at work:
You clock in, count the register and double check if everything is nicely fixed on the displays. You also vacuum and wipe stains off the floors. You will either work by yourself or with a manger during opening and the second employee clocks in a few hours later. So basically sometimes you will be working alone until your next coworker arrives. The store has sales goals that are not strict. No one has individual sales goals. As customers walk in, you are expected to immediately approach them and explain the sales of the day. As they walk to the next section of fragrance, you were expected to immediately explain the sale on that product as well and so forth. This was my least favorite part of the job was suffocating customers and following them to explain everything they touched. This was expected of us or else we would get the eye from our manager which later you will get talked to about how you were not helping the customer enough.
You were expected to demonstrate the scrubs and washable products to the sink area. This is great because customers almost always want to buy the product after this.
You are expected to wrap almost every purchase.
Management was horrible.
Other than that it is a very easy job and the pay is better than most companies. It was fun and customers loved the products so it made it fun to demonstrate them. I loved the music and the vibe. Management just had to go.
