Fun workplace but not the best business to work for.
Membership Representative (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - 14 June 2016
A typical day at LA Fitness was showing up, sitting down at my desk, and making calls all day long while getting leads and meeting with appointments. I learned how to maximize the benefits of selling on the phone, how to lead by example, and how to accept no and move on to the next. The management enjoyed their power and freedom. They were not the best at managing as I produced more sales than they had from outside sources. While they took walk ins and guest passes. The hardest part of the job was when I was doing better and working harder than everyone else, and still not getting walk ins. My co-workers were nice people, just not as focused and driven as I was. The most enjoyable part of the job was having everyone watch and record me while I made my calls. They loved watching me call and close people on the phone.
Pros
Great support and freedom
Cons
Managment Is dishonest and greedy

Productive and exciting workplace
Membership Advisor (Former Employee) - Hove, ENG - 12 December 2013
Good work place with includes benefits such as a decent wage and free memberships. Learnt a lot about the fitness industry and how important rapport building is. Looked after the well-fare of each client which was done through a database that was update regularly throughout everyday.
Downside was the management, the assistant managers were lazy and delegated everything to the advisor's even though their job was to set us tasks and plans for our days to make our jobs easier so we could solely focus on marketing and customer support. Furthermore when there was an issue that needed addressing the managers would try to take the simplest route instead of addressing the main issue there and then.
Last but not least, the company complained they did not get as many clients walking through the door, but when ever anybody tried to come up with a creative plan that could've boosted up the company awareness, they would ignore it and stick to what they already knew.
Pros
Free memberships, Salaries
Cons
Lazy Management, Poorly ran
