Fast Paced, well payed, uncertaintyKomat was a great place to work to pick up any number of essential and valuable skills. Here you'll learn to operate heavy machinery and drive on ice roads. A long with a wealth of knowledge of dealing with diesel engines in a winter climate. There is a great deal of uncertainty in the oil field industry but that is a constant problem in the industry.Typical day consists of maintenance and operation of heavy equipment.Hardest part of the job is dealing with the environment in winter. Most enjoyable part of the job is learning and the pay.

Good co-workers, terrible managementBasically no schedule, zero work/life balance. These guys couldn't care less about you, and care even less about paying you properly. Most of the iron is garbage, and most of the trucks will fail a pretrip miserably if you do it properly. They could care less about fixing anything. If you have zero experience, and want a job.... this is probably the place for you.

I loved working there.Great company to work for they pay for travel, wages that’ll make you want to stay there. Safety is key and will train and be patient with you and help you understand and explain it in a way everyone will. Great guys to work for a few young guys but mostly experienced guys who will tell you how to do your job and do it safely
Roughneck in Medicine Hat, AB
on 17 February 2018
good high paying job with room to growA lot of time away from home but great opportunity to make a great salary. Typical day has you wake up get dressed ind your gear and show up 2 work site. you then talk to your counterpart and talk about any information that needs to be passed along from the shift previous and you take over from them. a roughneck maintains the work equipment when possible and aids in operation of the drilling by lubrication of the pipes and assisting the driller with tripping in and out of drill pipe
