Heavy Equipment Operator in Canada

Decent place
Good pay, decent workplace. good quality and new equipment, very well taken care off. management tends to want to rush the schedule and maximize production, occasionally at the expense of safety.Superintendent in Vancouver, BC

Don’t.
You’re just a number. Zero consideration of work life balance. Get sent anywhere in North America at the drop of the hat. Never worked anywhere with lower morale. Pay is alright though. Heavy Equipment Operator in Marystown, NL

Relaxing and a joy to work for
It was the best job I ever had ,I was a heavy equipment operator for kiewit, and still am. But Kiewit is a very good company to work for .I was employed with this company for 19 mths. The job was done , would love to get the opportunity to work for them again some day.Excavator Operator in Hope, BC

If you’re an operator, AVOID!
Completely disorganized, chaos even. Management leans toward favoritism heavily and if you have your own mind you won’t make it. Operators are used as laborers, and expected to do so daily meanwhile getting minimum seat time and total disrespect for number of years in the industry. Zero interpersonal skills from management side leads to disorganization while forming work crews. Just avoid if you value your mental health Foreman in Hope, BC

Experience with Kiewit
My career with kiewit was an absolutely amazing experience. I started off operating equipment for a number of years and slowly worked my way up to a foreman/ General foreman. Excellent management that helped me along the way and always had my back. I would still be working with Kiewit but family comes first and after 15+ years working along side and gaining excellent experience with some of the best it was time to watch my kids grow up. I Strongly recommend Kiewit to anyone who wants a career and to be treated more than just a number. What would you say about your employer?
