To many things to list.
An incentive program of which is based on job policy, safety and then extra job performance.. if one man can change tires on a truck trailer unit and another man is dedicated but just don't have that extra insensitive to strive performance or stand out, I feel within any company you should be recognized buy what you know and your dedication.. as even field employees every hr trucks make they make... If they get truck hrs they have ensentive to put in that extra as well..
Also sign out shop supplies little cost add fast just a simple inventory and sign out can save thousands of dollars quarterly..
Be open to hearing employees concerns, work as a team to increase success. Work on retaining quality employees instead of having a revolving door of disgruntled people leaving.
If i was the manager, i would listen and observe my employees strengths and weaknesses and put them in a place where they can preform the best of their abilities, so we can do the best service we can do.
