An excellent place to grow your career, while enjoying everything Muskoka has to offer.
Been working for the JW Marriott for almost 3 years now. Its a great place to learn, grow and advance your career. Fast paced environment that challenges you, and work colleagues that will become life long friends. Enjoyable summers, and great pay.

JW Brand with Franchise Management
JW Brand with Franchise Managements. Has some of Marriott core values but the owners involved too much with operations. A great brand but the management team needs improvement. It’s will be great if the hotel can be managed by Marriott

Fast paced environment
Working at the JW Marriott was a fun experience. All coworkers were friendly and willing to help if need be. It was a very fast paced environment with very long hours and I often did not get breaks.

Taught me how NOT to lead a team
This was the worst experience I have ever had in a role. The “Executive Team” are incredibly inept and self absorbed. Most are only in their roles due to desperation and lack of qualified candidates. It seems like it’s easier to promote or throw extra money at people just because you can’t hire someone else more qualified. The JW doesn’t have the best reputation in Muskoka for working their but I wanted to give it a chance anyways. I completely saw what most people I spoke with in the industry, were talking about. I believe the property is not JW worthy as it is not a luxury property; maybe more lifestyle or boutique. It looks great on the resume but I gained no valuable skills from working there. There staff accommodations are horrendous with various bed bug infestations.

good place but too remote
Good Place but too remote. had problems with housing, transportation, groceries however, supervisor and managers were amazing and is the only thing which keeps you going throughout the day in such a remote place. lots of overtime opportunities in summer
