Unlike most door to door sales positions I liked that Just Energy offered hourly compensation on top of commission, plus after your 8th sale that week you qualified to earn overtime. There is a quota to make a minimum of 5 sales a week, which was easier in the beginning and the main reason I left the company was due to changes happening faster than we were trained to handle them. Just energy went from JUST ENERGY to trying to push smart thermostat sales along with home security. Something that we should have had a lot more training for in order to be able to close more sales the legitimate way to do so. The company has a terrible rating with the BBB and people care about this kind of stuff when talking to prospects. The bad reputation of misleading sales tactics was all too accurate. My supervisor and field sales manager were shady people who I thought would do anything for a sale, and even encouraged people to turn a trick or two by forging customer signatures amongst other awful practices. Base hourly pay is good to fall back on since it’s really hard to convince people you’re an energy salesperson a long with a thermostat salesperson AND home security salesperson.
Good base salary, full and overtime. Benefits and stock options
Terrible culture and management. Tough to sell such at such a terrible company
