Not worth it - OT Extern

Clinical Extern (Former Employee) - Hamilton, ON - 18 February 2023

Clinical Externs were essentially underpaid PSWs. Managers of this extern program were wonderful and caring, but the actual day-to-day work on the unit you are assigned to was not good. No one really cares about the externs and knows what to do with us. We're only paid $17/hr despite having almost 2 degrees.

Get paid well but ever since covid its been getting worse and worse. Overworked and very underpaid while being stressed and no praise. Can be difficult

Good place to work, good benefits and pay downside is poor management sometimes and the building needs to be upgraded, staff are great and always happy to help

Pretty decent place to work at

Pretty busy most of the time. Very structured though, you know what you’re supposed to be doing at all times. The staff you work with can be hit or miss, but the supervisors can be brutal. Constantly hounding you for things, and the communication between management is awful.
