Concrete Crew of John Ernewein Limited
Construction Worker (Current Employee) – Walkerton, ON – 16 April 2013
Working for John Ernewein Limited consisted of being at work for 6:30 A.M. to prepare for the day, gathering tools and equipment. Leaving at 7, work would start the moment the crew arrived at the job site, only stopping for breaks as well lunch. The day would conclude at 4:50 to clean up the site and make sure everything was in order for the next day. I was educated in the process of creating a concrete foundation while managing minor duties of the crew. The co-workers were kind and friendly, taking the time to ensure that I had the proper training as well required techniques. The hardest part of the job was long hours, but with the hour wages being fair, and overtime pay being administered, working as a concrete labour was worth every dollar. I would recommend this position to anyone who loves working on a small team of 7, who loves being outdoors, and who enjoys a different challenge for every site.
