Good stepping stone to jump to another company
Furnishing Technician (Current Employee) - Halifax, NS - 29 December 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedSchedule is really good, alternate between 5 days on, 5 days off and 4 days on, 4 days off you’ll have two weekends off a month with this schedule. Plus vacation on top of that works out really well. Very poor management though, always blaming the workforce for their errors and never putting any money into improvements in the hangar.
Pros
Vacation
Cons
Poor management

Great job, horrible pay
Pilot (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - 22 December 2022
Great job, great work conditions, except pay is way too low, B-scale in place and 50% of the very costly insurance has to be paid by the employee which greatly reduces the take-home pay.

Good job minus the pay
Pilot (Current Employee) - Yvr - 5 December 2022
New flight attendants barely make minimum wage and new pilots can afford their rent or a car, not both. New first officer is roughly $2200 a month net income. After a few years when you become captain you'll get $3900. Flight attendant well below $2000. If the pay improved this would be a great job, however that seems very unlikely. Benefits are good but horrendously expensive (think financing a new jaguar). Flight passes are great but good luck having enough money for a vacation. Good experience, good aircraft maintenance. Living in yvr and yyz bases will leave you very poor.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Low pay, long hours

Fun workplace
Flight Attendant (Current Employee) - Toronto, ON - 5 November 2022
Good place to start your aviation career. After the chaos of the summer, not much goodwill towards the company. Management are fair and have found them to be very supportive.
Cons
Seniority based bidding system

Worst paid airline in North America
Pilot (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 28 October 2022
For pilots this is the worst paid airline in North America. The equivalent position in the United States was making over 3 times , with far lower taxes. Deductions reached over %50, and you had to live in the most expensive cities in Canada if not the world. Where the take home pay if $2200 per month just covered a one bedroom apartment. Management is extremely greedy, and prefer to pay themselves before rewarding employees. Working here was extremely stressful and caused me to go to a therapist just to deal with the stress of horrible pay, and insane working hours. Thank you jazz for shortening my life.
Pros
Travel benefits
Cons
Pay, long hours, demanding training, poor mannered managers

Great company
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 19 October 2022
The company is well mamaged, but you will only enjoy working there if you like the aviation industry. Working with passengers is really stressful; I can say that the flight benefits compensate a little .

Fun Environment and nice people!

I recently joined this company but have been enjoying my work so far. There are opportunities for advancement within the company as well a lot of learning opportunities for new people.
Pros
Shift Schedules, good people, advancement opportunities, travel benefits
Cons
Commute if you don't drive

It’s fun to work at jazz. Lots of flexibility. Best contract in the industry, part time opportunity and overall easy work days. Management is helpful and union is always supportive.

Jobs at Jazz Aviation LP
Good place to get some experience....not good for long run....
Tow crew (Former Employee) - yyz - 11 July 2022
New employees get kicked off just before they complete their probation period without valid reason. Crew leads seems to be friendly but i found them back stabbers. Send complaints to top management rather than rectify new employees. Politics always is the topic in break time. Racisim is their for non english speaking backround employees.
Pros
flight benefits health
Cons
always short staff, burden on rest of team work, slow training to get certified

Amazing benefits and company culture
Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - Victoria, BC - 28 June 2022
I absolutely love working at Jazz the people are amazing and benefits are great. Company has great values and really follows them. For a company with 4000+ employees you don't feel like just a number at each base you feel like a family. Only reason why i gave a 4/5 is the pay is low especially when your starting but benefits including health, pension, travel, savings are amazing.
Pros
company culture, respectful, life work balance
Cons
low pay early AM and late PM shifts especially when you are new

Poor management culture
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Former Employee) - Halifax, NS - 1 June 2022
I love being an AME and I like my mechanic co-workers at Jazz but we just aren’t valued as employees, most crew chiefs are apathetic towards developing mechanics skills and you end up arbitrarily doing the same monotonous tasks over and because they can’t be bothered. Management treats the employees as the enemy and the union is completely apathetic and unhelpful and rolls over for most of what the company wants and never consults the employees.

Compared to Mainline and Rouge, Jazz actually care about its employees.
Flight Attendant (Current Employee) - Montréal, QC - 20 April 2022
Jazz is definitely a good company to work for. The collective agreement is x10000 better than the one at Mainline/ Rouge. They also have flight benefits, but Air Canada Mainline is keeping Jazz apart and putting their employees before Jazz crew. They always create a harmful work environment keeping the companies separated even though Jazz’s fleet is mainly all for Air Canada. Which creates tension between the employees from both companies and inequalities in the work place. Some people at Jazz have more than 35 years of seniority. Daily per diems, US per diems, guaranteed 4:30 credits, 75h min monthly and lots of opportunities. Professional crews and we are a big family! Join us.
Pros
Easy flights, passengers are easy going, nice crew, company actually cares about you, feels like you are your own boss
Cons
Unfair treatment from Mainline and lots of misinformation about the company.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (heavy maintenance)
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (M2) (Aircraft Certification Authority) (Current Employee) - Enfield, NS - 1 April 2022
Good spot to gain experience and get your AME licence. However, the heavy maintenance setting isn’t for everyone. Never challenged, same thing over and over. Technician moral is at an all time low due to management.
Pros
Decent pay.
Cons
Long hours, shift work (nights/days).

Long hours and toxic work environment
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Vancouver, BC - 10 March 2022
Relatively easy job and great benefits, however lots of petty gossiping in the workplace. Can be away from home for a very long time which makes it difficult to have a fulfilling life outside of work

Ok Company
Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Toronto, ON - 25 February 2022
The people and management are great , just the fleet and destinations are not great. A lot of domestic when you’re first starting out so no per diem. If you have never worked for an airline before it’s a great starting airline , but long term definitely not worth it. Gets boring real quick
Pros
Great staff Good management Good benefits ( health not so much flights) Pretty decent per diem
Cons
Fleet is pretty bad Destinations

Typical aviation maintenance
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Former Employee) - Nova Scotia - 31 January 2022
Jazz offers competitive pay and excellent benefits, however advancement will be slow due to the opportunities being based on seniority with the union.
Pros
12 hr shift, time off
Cons
Slow advancement, Night shift

Not The Best
CSA (Former Employee) - Regina, SK - 27 January 2022
Rude customers, long hours, unset schedules for entry-level, and workplace politics, many people who work there, have been there for years with no intention of leaving, so good luck trying to get ahead since job openings go by seniority.
Pros
Discounted flight
Cons
Long hours, rude customers, low pay, work politics, sonority worker mentality.
