I loved my job!
HSE Administrator (Former Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB19 March 2018
JACOS was an amazing company to work for. The only reason I left was because my husband got a job out of town and with two small kids, I didn't want to commute.

Worst place I have ever worked...
Former slave (Current Employee) –  Fort McMurray, AB3 January 2017
Management is a mess. There is no professionalism on the project whatsoever.

The project as a whole hires anyone that is not Canadian.

The aforementioned people that are hired do not live up to their credentials.
Pros
Not a single thing
Cons
everything else

Good and comfortable
Buyer (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB6 December 2016
It's relatively a small company that everyone knows everyone. The team building activities are very active and it's very entertaining. People here are so nice and it's a pleasure to work with them. The work is rigid and it's still a growing company so things can be tough sometimes but you can always talk people through and people would listen to you.
Pros
Free pop
Cons
Vulnerable to oil price and economy

old school mentality; close friends and family given preferentail treatment.
Process Operator (Former Employee) –  Hanging stone10 May 2016
Job duties and rounds are designed to keep you moving. Areas that should be a two-person job delegated to one person.

Unofficial unwritten policies in place that compromise safety and penalize workers.

Succession based on favoritism.

Millwright (Former Employee) –  JACOS31 March 2016
Very tiring due to work culture.
Don't stand still for more than five minutes or you may be fired
Management think they are running an open prison.
Great co workers.
Due to cramped conditions at sand tiger camp they have an overflow to brookwood camp 50 minutes away, makes for a very long day.
CLAC Union, the none union with no power.
Best part of job is counting the days until your days off
Pros
Great co workers
Cons
Oppressive management
