One of Canada's best trucking companies to work for
This is one of the top 5 best companies to drive for as a truck driver in Canada. For Dry van work anyways. Spent 7 years here and it wasn't even work to me, loved the job loved the people here, everyone from dispatchers to management to mechanics are awesome. Family owned and run business, almost no turn over, Loads of drivers that have been here a long time, and more often then not when one leaves to find what they think are greener pastures, they come straight back. Their pay is competitive and fair, not super high and definitely not low, but you get serious miles here. Running ayr ontario to abbotsford BC and everything in between, they have terminals in calgary edmonton "winterpeg" saskatoon and abbotsford. Their fleet of around 80-90 trucks is about 50/50 teams and solo drivers, most teams are husband/wife or other similar partners. All the other drivers are fantastic people as well. Outside of any dedicated winnipeg and back runs, open board dispatch will have you out minimum 10 days or so with 4-5 days off if you are based out of ontario. And you will get miles, lots of them. Lots of full 12 hour plus driving days, mostly pin to pin terminal to terminal as local drivers handle delivers, you will do some ltl deliveries outside of terminal hub city areas. These are actually not bad as the majority of their customer base is old industry, in and out quickly with a few skids at a time. You will learn to back up really well really fast here due to the nature of the properties of these customers. They also haul "turnpikes" in the prairie provinces (two 53' trailers) from terminal to terminal and unlike almost every other company actually pay you fairly for essentially doing the work of two drivers by paying you 20 cents a mile over your normal rate when you have a turnpike behind you. Equipment is always new, trucks get traded in before warranty expiration at 800k kms, no real slipseating, dedicated truck. Anything that breaks is always fixed right away, they actually have software to scan codes and diagnose trucks in the main terminal's shop so no waiting for endless dealer visits to get ur truck running again. All of this based on a 7 year period up to 3 years ago anyways.Long Haul Truck Driver in Ayr, ON

One of the best companies to drive for
J&R Hall is a multi time winner of North Americas top fleets award. They are one of the best companies that I have ever been pleased to review, with a fleet of new KW’s and Freightliners and top notch mechanics makes this company stand out . They have pride in their jobs and employees are treated with respect and understanding. Accommodating with a healthy home and work life balance they will do what they can to get you home when you have the need . J&R Hall has their main terminal located in Ayr,Ont and several others located throughout Canada, Winnipeg,Saskatoon,Calgary,Abbotsford and their newest terminal located in Acheson,Alberta . All terminals have showers lounge and most have Gyms for the employees, All these and the top notch staff and years of experience make it feel like home and I am proud to have been part of their amazing team.
