Account Director (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CA30 October 2018
It was extremely challenging navigating internal processes in order to get things done the IZEA way. That said there is opportunity for professional growth.

Culture was great
DIGITAL SALES INTERN (Former Employee) –  Winter Park, FL25 September 2018
The culture at IZEA Inc is very young and it is pretty awesome. Open floor plan, colorful office, great opportunities to learn more about online marketing.

Un buen organismo que les hace falta mejor infraestructura
Apoyo a actividades administrativas (Former Employee) –  Río Grande, Zac.22 August 2018
El departamento donde estuve siempre era agitado y movido, había demasiadas cosas por hacer. Además que es fácil aprender en qué consisten las actividades.
Pros
Ambiente laboral
Cons
Es un lugar demasiado pequeño

Unprofessional Recruiter and Upper-Level Management
Intern (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FL26 June 2018
I have never experienced such a blatant lack of professionalism, specifically by recruitment/HR at this company. They fail to realize that their employees, even interns, deserve basic respect. I chose to leave after some time because it's honestly not worth it, especially since it's unpaid.
Pros
creative work space
Cons
unpaid, unprofessional, rude

Great Company Experiencing Growing Pains
Campaign Manager (Current Employee) –  Winter Park, FL16 October 2017
IZEA is a great company with great people but they're having to switch from culture and growth-oriented ideals to a profitability focus which is causing issues. They've hired a workforce who are motivated by culture but now that culture is going away to account for cost-effectiveness. It's an understandable issue that any small-medium sized company goes through but it's causing tension in the IZEA family at this moment.

Lack of direction
Senior Account Executive (Former Employee) –  New York10 August 2017
Company has no idea where they are going since going public. Lack of organization. Managers in Detroit working from home trying to oversee employees in NYC office. Just doesn't work.
Pros
Fun environment.
Cons
Management needs help, no ladder to climb, people are too laid back to be productive. Executives seem to care less about the company.

Great
Graphic Design/Multimedia Intern (Current Employee) –  Winter Park, FL20 July 2017
Great learning experience. Able to really grow and connect with team. Internship is unpaid, but there is a stipend and the knowledge/experience gained is extremely valuable.

Not a good place to work.
Manager (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CA11 July 2017
Wouldn't recommend working at this company. Poor managerial skills, subpar company culture. Very misogynistic company atmosphere didn't give the impression that women would/could excel.

Awesome Start Up that is growing fast
Account Director (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FL11 October 2016
Great company culture. The company has been growing rapidly in the last couple of years. As an Account Director, you have uncapped commission and potential to make a lot.

Growing company in an exciting field
Director of Business Development and Sales (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles County, CA18 July 2016
Company is growing rapidly. Lots of changes in strategy and staffing, but generally a good environment.

Headquarters is in Orlando. All company employees meet up in Orlando quarterly.

Technology is a bit outdated but company is working to address this. Investing in more technology and I.T.

Competitive sales team and amazing office space
Account Director, Northeast (Former Employee) –  Winter Park, FL28 April 2016
Experience working with the inside sales team, was one of a kind. Primary focus on new biz development and lead gen. Hard to receive pre qualified leads on a monthly basis or quarter. You will have to do most of the hustling on your own. The best office space and company events you will ever experience in your work history!

Cons
no tienes salario fijo ni prestaciones

Good on the outside... Bad on the inside.
Consumer Love (Current Employee) –  Orlando, FL7 January 2013
Izea is more like a frat house than a constructive work environment. The party scene grows old after working there for more than a few weeks. The company seems to pay more attention to posture and the way they make the company appear than putting the effort to actually build substance. The company also greatly discourages ideas from their employes rather than keeping an open mind towards ideas that can potentially benefit the company as a whole. There is also very little opportunity for growth as an employee. Higher-ups tend to contradict themselves daily, slowing the work pace and making for a frustrating environment.

Pros::
Izea has a very energetic environment with many weekly parties. You will often find ice cream, pizza, cake and beer keg parties in the office on any given work day. The bright colors, loud music and costume contests make for a happy work day. Izea certainly has a strong and unique culture reminiscent to that of a college dorm.

Advice to management::
Save the beer bash parties in the office for after work and focus more efforts on building the core of the company to ensure its success and not so much on how it looks from the outside. Also, from an employee standpoint, embrace new ideas from your employees rather than having a closed mind. Work together to achieve a common goal rather than fighting each other for power.

Don't let the "fun" atmosphere fool you. If you want job security don't work here. The fact of the matter is that they are still in 'start up' mode.
Solutions Sales Rep (Former Employee) –  Orlando, FL6 March 2011
Izea is still a start up and the management lacks the 'big picture' thinking needed to be truly successful. The "management" knows nothing about media sales and they completely under estimate the length of the sales cycle. It may LOOK like a fun place to work, but you will never make a lot of money and management will throw you under the bus for their own personal gain in front of the board of directors.
Pros
the walls are painted pretty colors
Cons
company lacks focus and direction, things are constantly changing as are expectations
