Great place to work, feels as though the company cares
Regular bonuses, helpful supervisors engaging management, good staff and manageable pace of work. The only downside is sometimes their seems like there's not enough equipment to go around. Other than that I've never worked at a better company.

Don’t judge a book by its cover
There are certainly pockets of good culture but when it solely depends on who you work for rather than a consistent culture of belonging and safety this may not be the ideal company for you.Working here is like being on a roller coaster! One minute things are going great and the next a situation occurred that leaves you scratching your head.

It's all about the wage.
The pay is what keeps people there because the environment you work in is toxic. The pay rate might be better than other places, but it is not nearly in line with living expenses.

Lowest moral
Working here is not the best environment. It's dirty, it's loud, that comes with the territory though. There is absolutely no planning and there's no work a lot of the time which makes 0 sense. Shop full of skilled trades people willing to work and aren't given jobs

Very average place to work. Pay and benefits are decent for Nova Scotia.
I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer and was hired for a non-engineering role. I took it as a foot in the door type position due to lack of job opportunities during the onset of Covid. Working in Maintenance, I really did not gain any skills other than communication and time management that will benefit me later on in my career. The role I am in is basically non-technical although you have to use a maintenance program to work with work orders and purchase parts. The management structure in maintenance is set in its ways from the top down. New ideas are typically shot down pretty quick. The direct team is great to work with but the upper management team does not really understand the importance of retaining employees. It kind of seems like it is every person for themselves. The hardest part of the job is trying to stay ahead of your work. You receive e-mails and work orders for random problems all the time and your equipment portfolio is massive. The most enjoyable part of the job is that you get to meet some cool people from all sorts of backgrounds.
