As a partner in the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) with the federal government, Irving Shipbuilding is at the forefront of shipbuilding in Canada. In 2011, Irving Shipbuilding was selected through the competitive and transparent NSS to construct Canada’s future naval combatant fleet. Since then, we have invested more than $400 million to build North America’s most modern shipyard and provide Canada with needed shipbuilding capability.

As a direct result of our trusted partnership with the Government of Canada, Irving Shipbuilding is reinvesting in projects that reach beyond our shipyard. We believe that it is not enough that the Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships and Canadian Surface Combatants serve and protect the Royal Canadian Navy. When we build in Canada, we invest in Canadians directly.

Decent job
A decent place to work and stay close to home . It has its problems like everywhere else .. it's what you make it . Show up, do your job and go home.

Good place to work
No complaints really. Its like any other job. Has its problems but has many perks that out weigh them. Lots of room to improve yourself with internal career choices.

Toxic Environment
ISI hires and promotes managers that don’t know how to manage people. The union makes everything more difficult. Supply chain is a revolving door. I wouldn’t recommend it.
