Toxic and political wotkplace

Not very smart management work environment is dirty and dusty and no one cares about health and safety. The Union works for the lazy individuals and the hard worker gets shafted

Great place to work until Corporate America came in

Family run business was much more enjoyable to work for. Corporate America bought out Command Services and it went downhill from there. Co workers were good to work with.

Pros

RRSP too up

Cons

Management didn’t communicate well

Very business like, very productive, very fun place to work.

Very business like environment, very productive, very fun and positive atmosphere, positive attitudes, very organized. It was a very professional place to work. Same companies would call to place a medical record file or box retrieval faxed or delivered. Also shredding would be requested offsight or onsite, and delivery of empty bin requests.

Not a fun place to work at all it is micro managed to the max with eyes always watching you.

For the amount of work, security and stress you have to deal with they don't pay you close to enough money I was there for 3 years and was only making 17 bucks. It is an absolute joke. Anyone is disposable no matter how long you work there. If you are looking for a serious career don't look twice at iron mountain only thing good about them was there benefits.

Pros

Benefits

Cons

Company in flux

It was a decent company to work for with good pay, benefits and other incentives. The issue is there is ZERO room for growth because they are always cutting employees, changing directions and infrastructures. Seems like the company is trying to balance staying afloat based on a slowing dying industry and commodity. There are other places I would recommend people to go as this is not somewhere you will have a thriving career (especially during a pandemic). Just no foreseeable stability at Iron Mountain.

Pros

Compensation

Cons

No stability- Always laying off and cuts

A team work kind of atmosphere. Co-workers willing to help out Co-workers!!! Everyone here gets along well and the supervisors door is always open for questions or if you need help in anyway.

Pros

Cons

Long hours sometimes

Stay away unless you want to feel miserable

Expect to work with super sensitive information (sometimes even government information) for minimum salary. There are no chances of salary raise, just some 50 cents if you're lucky because the company and the union have been at negotiations for many years... negotiations that always end up in favor of the ancient employees only while the newer employees gain nothing.Syndicate only care about ancient employees (those of more than 10 years) so don't expect they'll fight for you. This company tolerates racism and discrimination big time, there was a big incident all over the news a while ago and the perpetrator of the racism is still working there. I've personally witnessed many situations of harassment and management decides to do nothing because they're too scared of union.Management is highly disorganized and take the worst decisions. The supervisors don't care about the employees, they just care about keeping the big boss happy. However they will tolerate pretty much anything (lateness, people that do whatever they want) as long as the production is high they don't care about anything else. And I've seen the cases of 2 people who were not paid after two months of work.Environment is toxic. People seem to always be in a bad mood, older employees are always complaining and looking down on everyone, there is high competitivism and people are always stabbing at each others backs. I've never worked at a place with such toxic co-workers before. There is no such thing as earning your place and being a good worker and role model, at the end of the day, the older employees will -

Pros

Insurance. 100% dental and other benefits. Free coffee.

Cons

Toxic coworkers. Disorganized management. No advancement. Minimum salary and no raise

Shred Management is Horrible

Shred Management has no clue how to run a business and put everything before safety, they are dishonest and I DO NOT recommend anybody to work there as work life balance just doesn’t exist.

Pros

Good employees

Cons

Horrible management.

Iron Mountain is a pleasant work environment.

The managers are quite down to earth. Do their best to provide assistance whether it pertains to equipment, hands-on training or moral support. Work culture there is fast-paced but collaborative.

Pros

Be serious and focused on the work at hand.

Decent job worst part may have been finding parking for the trucks

Decent job straight forward room for some growth. Can make good money work isn't easy but not very physically demanding being in half decent shape will make the job easier. A few times we had some lunches on the boss which was nice. Small group of guys.

Overworked and Underpaid

Some days there is little work to do, and people are sent home early ( supposedly on a rotating basis to keep it "fair"). Other days there is too much work to do in a day, and not everyone pulls their weight. If you're looking for a warehouse job, and are used to temperature variations inside (and don't mind extreme heat or cold) this is a good place to look. If you're looking for a records management position (as I was) don't do it! Things were slowing down business-wise and cuts had to be made. No rhyme or reason (as far as I can tell) as to why some were cut and others were not.

Former employee

Didn’t be fair with how they let go of people. Under staffed. Kept the people who don’t know how to do their job and let go the ones who know. Cheap!!

Pros

Good to work with. Amazing staff.

Poor management.

Terrible management

Terrible atmosphere they allow harassment and there is a lot of favoritism. Working in transportation you will know your start time but never know when you shift is ending. Your routes are timed and if your not within their time limits you will be questioned. Expectations are very high to get the whole route completed nomatter what time it is or how you have been working. Heaving lifting involved like bring up or down 300 boxes by hand and by yourself.

Great if you are kept after constant change.

Due to the nature of the business, change and restructuring is inevitable. The environment and people that you work with are great. Weather can be bad at times for the job but it is Canada. Wish I could have stayed.
