Salespeople drive the schedules creating unrealistic schedule pressure

The code base is rotten to the core, i.e. tons of tech debt, and there is no realization of the impact this has on development velocity. Consequently, schedules are completely unrealistic and the pressure on developers to deliver despite the Jenga-style design is intense.
I worked with quite a few very talented contractors there who quit in frustration over management's inability to grasp that delivering code hacks inhibits velocity.
Until they are fully committed to Agile, SOLID design principles, and TDD, I recommend avoiding this company.
Inability to recognize the impact of technical debt on velocity has created an insane asylum
