Live in support worker in Duncan, BC

Hard work at times but a great team of people to work withI worked for Integra while on a working visa in Canada. I am glad I had the opportunity to work with Integra. I was a live in support worker working 24hour shifts twice a week, with an individual on a 1-1 basis. These hours gave me a great home and work balance. From the get go I was supported very well, having training from experienced staff at the home and elsewhere. This in turn gave me lots of encouragement and and made me feel confident in my role. Having previously had experience in the care sector I quickly moved from being a live in support worker to the team lead support worker and keyworker of the individual. There is plenty of opportunity to 'work up the ranks' as it were, as long as you are prepared to work hard and of your own intive. I enjoyed my job with Integra, the staff you work along side with on a daily basis are fantastic. Help is given when needed, advice is there if wanted and the level of care individuals receive is amazing. Sadly I had to return to England but my time with Integra was great. If I ever had the opportunity to work with Integra again I would in a heart beat.

friendly and helpful teamI was working for 6 months in Integra. It was a great experience for me. Co-workers and managers were very thoughtful and friendly. They were always ready to adjust my needs in the work environment. I learned a lot how to work with people who have some disabilities. It was rewarding to be part of the Integra Team.

Great co-workers but terrible managementManagement has very little loyalty to employees and are solely client focused. They take advantage of care workers with bleeding hearts that stay in their positions despite the corrupt management for the sake of the clients needs. They are great if you are the perfect employee but give them any excuse that they are very quick to fire. Job security is not a given here and communication with upper management is non-existent.

Amazing company to work for!Integra is an amazing and rewarding company to work for! The coordinators and other management team are truly kind hearted, caring and understanding people who work so hard to support the needs of residents and staff. All of the staff I’ve met have been so welcoming, helpful and kind and are fun co-workers to have around. The residents that I support are all amazing, loving individuals that keep me smiling and laughing all day. It is so absolutely rewarding getting to be a part of their growth. I am so grateful and proud of my job at Integra!
Home Share Coordinator in Victoria, bc

Good home share programIt was a pleasure and an honor to support this program and serve the people supported by home share providers. Being a home share provider seemed like such a rewarding role to play in the life of an adult with an intellectual disability I became one myself!
