Productive but busy

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
lots of opportunity down the road. However I don't appreciate the workload. long hours to catch up on high volume requests. More pressure working at home with the RSA conversion doing 3x the work load for same pay.

Pros

Managment nice but maybe unaware of tasks day to day employees have to do.

Cons

long hours not paid for, can be competitive in departments.

Great overall environment. It's pretty young in the call centre environment. Very cool people but can be difficult to bring new fresh ideas.

My job was to answer calls from customers regarding car and home insurance. It's a very faced paced job and I learned lot of many key skills like staying organised, taking charge of the interaction, and knowing how to prioritize tasks.

Pros

Work life balance, supportive coworkers.

Cons

- a lot of stress -little freedom - very bureaucratic

Good people, Horrible management at the top.

Gross amount of workload, not sure management is listening. not sure it is LEGAL that employees work more than 40 hours without being paid overtime. they make it impossible for you not to work extra . Hire more help.

learn lots and is fast-paced

I have been in 3 positions so far at Intact. I have been able to learn lots and the management I had was able to help me succeed. It is a pretty fast-paced environment and things are always changing so if you do not mind that you'll be fine. Progression is a must in this company and your managers will always push you towards your goals. The benefits are good. Pay is average

Pros

benefits, progression

L'horreur

Great place if you enjoy being a robot.

Just no.Manager that never makes you feel competent. Constant gossip, meetings to talk about meetings, when they could have been emails- just chaos.Everyone trying to keep their jobs, zero job security. Not motivating, just militant.

Pros

Decent pay

Cons

Horrible upper management

If youre down for burnout,go there

After 2 years there i cam guarantee you dont wanna put foot at Intact. The compagny is good for pay and advantages but that's it. The adjusters dont get a second to themselves creating months delay for clients who will then yell at you . Most of your call comes from frustrated clients wich destroy your mood- and the fact that the compagny cant make their employees answer people with opened claims in normal delays makes it unbearable. The structure is awful and expect non stop calls all day-not 15secs to breathe in between. And remember-if a client yells at you you gotta keep a big smile on.

Cons

Bad management, structure, non stop calls, stressfull environement

Great company to work for

The work culture is positive and contagious. Diverse environment with truly supportive management. Employee engagement is top priority and before the pandemic there was a lot of great food.

Pros

Work-life balance

Cons

Summer time is very busy

Mauvaise gestion

Pros

Haute direction, avantages, ambitions, culture en général

Cons

Sondage annuel, culture d'innovation à développer, penser moins agir plus

Auto adjusting role has becoming more difficult to do

The company use to be fun and have supportive management. However, the management have adapted to a new model and all the work has been placed on the auto adjusters. Adjuster has to be on the queue as well and no cap on how many claims are assigned to each adjuster. Not the highest paying company as well in the industry.

Awful call centre job titled claims representative

Experienced claims specialists should NEVER consider this company! They use all claims reps as a call centre people to please the customers, they don't care about your experience either. This information is NOT DISCLOSED during the interview process! Expectations are unbelievable, work load is huge, they lose employees pretty quickly. Very toxic environment, reporting on your co-workers is highly encoraged, and unit claims managers care only about the performance and nothing else. Skip this opportunity for something better, even though they pay average salary you will NOT HAVE a work - life balance there.

Pros

None

Cons

Too much politics

Pros

Employees understood well each other

Cons

Some management position save their job on back employees

Coming from a retail background, Intact is the first employer I've had that treats me like a human being and management is understanding of human circumstances! They get it, you get sick, you get overwhelmed, you get hungry.. they care and that is an amazing feelling.

Pros

Insurance discounts, phone plan discounts, great benefits, work from home options

Cons

Fast paced, Constantly evolving workflow

Avoid the Telemarketing Department at all cost if you can

I wouldn’t encourage anyone to consider working within the telemarketing department of this company unless they don’t have plans to stay there for long. It is among the most depressing work environments I have ever experienced. Non-stop calls that hit your head like a hammer and destroy your psychological, mental and physical well-being. Telemarketing employees do the hardest work sacrificing their mental and physical health but are treated very unfairly and looked down upon by senior management as if they aren’t an important part of the company. The calls are extremely unpleasant and depressing as you have to deal with extremely rude existing and potential clients who don’t hesitate to insult you, hang up harshly on you, yell at you and disrespect you in 350 calls a day no matter how polite you may be. Also, the micromanagement adds to the already depressing work environment, with a dialer that monitors and gives an account of your every move, how much time you take in between calls (wrap up time), personal break time, etc. Every lateness of 1 minute must be justified and you can’t breathe in between calls. The level of depression among telemarketing staff is extremely high although everyone tries to stick it in.**Advice to senior management: Be more considerate of how you treat your telemarketing employees. They are human beings with emotions and not robots, so make them feel as if they are an important part of the company due to the tremendous sacrifices they make. Let your HR team take the time to invest in telemarketing employees who have proven themselves with -

Pros

Great team managers, solidarity among coworkers, great benefits

Cons

Excessive micromanagement, depressing work environment

Amazing company to work for

Employee focussed company with lot of good projects and good people to work with. Work life balance is appreciated. Always adapting to latest technology in their projects which keeps them competitive in the market.

Poor management, too much workload

A lot or micro-management and a lot of power trips coming from the multiples bosses, especially woman. In one year only, I had 3 different boss change, this instant normal. The workload is too much to handle plus the phones calls keep on coming in, you can answer at least 30-50 calls a day plus yours 45-50 files per week to deal with. It is impossible to provide a good customer service because of that. A lot of our clients complains that we are not reachable in a satisfactory delay.

Pros

Good Social advantages

Cons

Salary, work load, management

To much politics

Managers friends tend to move up faster. Those with actual work knowledge get let behind. Those who suck up but know none of the working procedures will get promoted before you. They pay less than industry average as well
