Great work culture but low pay

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I worked Infosys for around 3.5 years in India and I have to say that they have got a really good training program and the work culture is really good whereas the pay is significantly less as compared to other employers

Average

Not very talent promoting environment. Infosys is not a bad company, it is an average company. The challenge with working through a firm like that, is that a large portion of their workforce is very low quality. They are a bodyshop, interesting in putting a warm body in seats to make consulting dollars. Firms hire Infosys to save money over having internal employees. There are other consulting firms brought in for their expertise, but I have yet to see a project where Infosys was anything other than a cost saving measure for warm bodies.Even if you are a fantastic developer, many will assume the experience on your resume is low quality. You are far better off being the stupidest person on a Google development team, than being the strongest developer at Infosys or similar bodyshops. As in 10 years time when applying for a job, someone is reviewing your experience based on the firm you worked at.

Less salary

Very less salary , more opportunities, more work, good for freshers. Salary is very less.We can learn a lot as we will have to do many different roles

Experience may vary

Was hired at the end of COVID. The company over-hired compared to the actual demand from Canadian clients. After training, most of my batch were left sitting idle with little to no guidance on what to do for upwards of a year. If you wanted a relaxed job with no quotas or instructions with decent pay it was an alright experience. It was essentially being paid to learn relevant tech. Otherwise it was a very alienating experience and was exceptionally difficult to get information from the company on what you should actually be doing.

Associate(former)

Vast subjects to learn but getting placed on a project was barely a thing so getting actual experience is impossible. Mostly remote with lots of benefits.

Pros

Great learning platform

Cons

No career advancement

Can be good if you are placed in a good project

You get placed on projects based on the company's requirement without much say on what you like, if you're put on a bad project it can be really bad, can be a toxic work environment

Collaborative environment with abundant learning options.

Good Organization as long as one meets expectations. Typical IT organization which is metric driven with Good Management . However HR practices could be better.

Pros

Abundant learning and upskilling programs. However one need to find timeout :)

Cons

HR and employee evaluation practices need to in sync with Industry standards

Supportive management

Management is really supportive. Growth is not that much but you will be compensated with onsite in the long run. Pay is average but there is a lot to learn.

Toxic Workplace and Managers

There is no work-life balance; getting a promotion or even a yearly review hike will take forever. Managers don't care about your career, It is impossible to get something done from HR or any other office even your tax documents any name correction or anything will take years. They only care about clients

This was one of the best companies I've ever worked for. They have a great work life balance and I like the HR process and pay. Good company to start your IT life in.

it's good

The work-life balance of Air Canada is very excellent. On average, an employee works 35 hours a week which is very best according to the industry standards. The industry standard is around 40 hours. Air Canada offers holidays to their employees so they can chill and work with total effort. And when an employee has to work more than 40 hours Air Canada pays 1.5 times the salary. It is a job where they also support the employee’s family. The manager is also supportive
