Water Patrolman (Former Employee) – Imperial, CA 92251 – 12 September 2018
Early in the am i pick up the orders sent in by the farmers. To see what water run i have for the day. So if i have more runs for the day. Like to start the morning quicker than usual get a jump start. I take the company truck out to the main drops. Open of the side gates to where the water flows to these smaller ditches. some are man made with shovel or concreted into ditch form. I open a gate that passes through there they open a small gate that lets water out to there crops, Water moves very fast an is also very dangerous currents.

Good stable utility position with good benefits and provides a good work/family balance. There is not a lot of room for advancement and the pay is below market value. The values/morals of some upper management is to be desired.
good benefits and good work/life balance
slow moving, very political in nature even to the lowest level employee
