not bad

Indeed featured review

the company is not bad but can be way better, the pipeline is super slow and old. they need to work on their tools and need to switch to USD cache system and better rendering software. the style of animation they are working is not cool and they should improve themselves

Pros

good people, teamwork, nice supervisors

Cons

not interesting projects, low quality, restrcited rules, very bad pipeline

PIP(Performance Improvement Plan) Spray and pray

This place is hardest place for new comers. They give you really intense deadlines even you are having emergent time off due to family health condition. No mercy for Junior animators I used to be given over 40 shots when others have around 20 shots in 4 weeks. They will give you warning if you leave from keyboard for 10-20 mins and you will get PIP for last warning.

Pros

Very welcoming for new international employees

Cons

Soulless workplace and strict work culture without mercy

Good mid-entry level job

ICON is a great place to work up in the TV industry, but be prepared for a stressed studio culture and tight deadlines. If the company likes you, they will try to keep you on board throughout shifts in production schedules. Good for steady work, but easy to reach a 'ceiling' in terms of animation quality and creative fulfillment.

Pros

steady, pays well

Cons

Heavy politics, short deadlines, no studio culture, projects lack excitement, bad location

Very professional people

People are friendly. The location is not the more comfortable.

relaxed and fun

Management was great. Artists were amazing to work with. I was there briefly but if I had the chance I worked there again. this is a great place to start at, its a small team and you can learn from one another.

Animation sweat shop

Use to have more of a 'team' spirit, people were happier and felt like they were part of something. Now that the studio has grown, all that is gone. The crew is treated like dirt, and the studio run like a sweat shop.

Pros

Some good TV series

Cons

Poorly run productions

At least there's beer.

Management is pretty lackluster. Everyone is super stressed all the time, it fries your brain working here. They are barely breaking even financially and you never know what nonsense they are going to pull next. But hey, free beer.

Pros

Free Beer

Cons

The rest

Fun TV animation studio with open plan structure

ICON is a young and developing crew with great projects. It has a good team spirit with a crew pull together to get projects complete. I enjoyed the openness of the studio.
