Hyland Software, Inc. is an interesting place to work. The college campus-like atmosphere is fun & exciting. With so many conveniences, parties and activities at the workplace, it's not easy to achieve a true work-life balance outside of business hours. But if you're single or you don't have kids, this won't be a problem - you'll be really happy. They have a fully-equipped gym, a diner on-site and even a hair salon and masseuse. You will never want to go home!
"Play hard, work hard" is their motto and they have a reputation for hiring the best of the best. One warning: Once hired, new employees have to pass a month-long, very intense OnBase training "boot camp". During this time, you are isolated to training and will not interact with the department that you hired into. You must learn everything about the software in those few weeks. If you fail the exam, you will be let go without any explanation, compensation or empathy for your loss. I tell you this not to scare you away from Hyland, but to hammer home that working there is not for the faint of heart. You've got to be absolutely confident in your abilities before you accept any position. Slackers need not apply!
Yes, sometimes it can be kitschy, and it's true that you have to conform to the Hyland culture to fit in. However, Hyland Software is constantly winning national awards for "Best Place to Work". If you are a high-achiever, you will succeed, meet a lot of cool people, and have a great time working.
All the free pop you can drink and lots of parties/culture. Plus, you can tell people you work at Hyland and they will be impressed.
The pay is so-so but is comparable to other places in Cleveland, available health benefits are far below industry standard.
