Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedCompany expects too much for lower wages. I did 3-4 different jobs, when I was only assigned to do one with no extra pay. With the right Manager that values what you are trying to do, a great job.

Good Starting job but Needs a New Computer System
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 23 May 2023
Overall a good job for someone in highschool just starting off and needing money. However, I often felt like my coworkers were competing with me (despite being all paid hourly) and were not very nice. The managers were okay but sometimes talked down to you, especially in womenswear. The old store manager scared everyone and would literally have people running away to avoid having to talk to him.

Good place to start
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Burnaby, BC - 18 May 2023
It’s a good place to start . They teach you everything if they see you are enthusiastic about learning. The sales manager was one the best managers I have ever seen but the store manager was pushing associates to do so many different works at the same time. They pay the minimum wage which I think with this much load of work is not worth to stay there for a long time otherwise you will get so many physical problems. You have to stand on feet for 8 hours and when the store is busy you have to do so many putbacks The schedule and hours are so flexible but you have to give them at least 3 days of availability.
Pros
Flexible hours
Cons
It’s totally a physical job

A fun place to work with, co workers are very nice. Great work place to start and have experience in retail industry. Very poor management, always short staff.

good place for a short time
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Richmond Hill, ON - 10 April 2023
Fast paste, fun, and too much pressure for opening Credit Cards. Colleagues are amazing but management does not care about you. It is a very good place to start working if you are a newcomer but make sure you get out soon otherwise you will find yourself staying there for a long time and still have not got a raise or even been offered a full-time position

A stressing work environment
seasonal sales associate (Former Employee) - Ottawa, ON - 31 March 2023
If you are not someone who handle stress well do not apply. This job is like a competition between associate of who will do the most sales, credit, auto locate... The manager also are really bad at there job. They do not put you for the number of hours that you want and do everything last minute.

I got this job as my first job, and the accommodation they provide is amazing for any students who are needing a job. Management has strong leadership and are very friendly and understanding. You clean the store, make the racks neat, serve customers, Learn the register system

Good experience for retail
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Brampton, ON - 14 March 2023
Great environment to learn retail and obtain customer service skills. The only downside would be the limited amount of shifts you’ll get after January. Expect to work 1 day a week and the pay is not worth the amount of work given.

heartless
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Richmond, BC - 16 February 2023
Overall it was a great experience, the co workers are the best part.On the other hand, the managers don't care how you feel and don't train you at all, just care about how many cards you applied at the end of the month. Dont appreciate you for nothing, just the cards.
Pros
co- workers
Cons
management

Stepping stone towards future
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Yonge and Queen streets - 14 February 2023
The Bay is a nice place to work and get to know customers, and all levels of staff. Not enough hours though- mostly part-time. A small raise every year. Performance reviews. If you really like a team oriented environment, this is the place for you!
Pros
Discount on merchandise
Cons
Not enough hours. Mostly part- time.

Had fun
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - 30 January 2023
The reason I’m not working there anymore is because they laid us off during covid. Overall it was a good part time job. Had great coworkers and most of the managers were really fun. Had a lot of rude and entitled customers but what can you do.
Pros
Store discount, flexible hours, good coworkers
Cons
Minimum wage, rude customers

Extremely hectic work culture
Retail Experience (Customer (Former Employee) - North York, ON - 28 January 2023
Absolute No support from Manager , Every sfift your schedule changes & most often the Managers are shouting when in fact sometimes its their mistake... Just before the ehsift ends , you are loaded with work.. Very depressing , Not recommended..No trainings given , you are directly put to floor & expected to perform & then you are highlighted saying poor work performance. Nobody to train or guide.. You are all lost on the floor. Just work colleagues are good ,They are helpful..

Company Does Not Care About Their Employees
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 27 January 2023
Simply put, this company has very little regard towards its employees. It wants you to devote your time and energy in their company, but doesn't think about how their employees are able to make ends meet. I honestly don't recommend this company. Their products are low quality at unreasonable prices, and is incapable to train employees properly. The only good thing about this job are the people you work with, because they at least stand by you. Corporate is just heartless.
Pros
Good work colleagues
Cons
Management is terrible, False promises, Unrealistic expectations, Corporate greed, No opportunity to grow, Sales and Discounts not worth it
