don't even get close to them
Electrician Journeyman (Former Employee) –  Richmond Hill, ON25 May 2019
they are so rude and they cannot treat the people very well. They are always looking for people because nobody wouldn't stay there.there is a foreman and he thinks he wrote down the electrical code book and he treats you like you owe him something so simply just don't try something it's already been tried by the other people
Pros
Nothing to say
Cons
stay away from them

Electrician Apprentice (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 April 2019
This company is slavery simply put. They expect you to work from 6 to whenever you get back to the shop but only pay you for the work you did on job sites. Anything you did in the shop or load truck, etc. Is free. They're always hiring and it's not because of "growth" they get slow often times..."growing" is just code word for the other guys quit and we need a replacement. Low pay and too much expectations from them. Don't work here
Pros
Nice co workers
Cons
The company exists

Apprentice Electrician (Former Employee) –  Vaughan, ON30 March 2019
Worked here for a while the wages are fair for fair work however there is plenty of guys that try to come to work here and fail so the one lesson that I've seen is that if you don't have the skill sets that you say you do you shouldn't apply to hotwire they will fire you very quickly if you don't prove your skill-set quick enough for them they put their clients first and make sure that their employees understand that if you're coming in looking for long hours and 60 + weeks this is not that company for you they have a work-life balance and they will not do overtime as they have a full team in the office for scheduling and client services so they do not run overtime hours you do not need to drive your own car in this company like I had two in my previous one which is a pro
Pros
Provide tools and trucks and steady work hours even when its slow seasons
Cons
Will fire asap if you suck

Don't work here
Electrician (Former Employee) –  Vaughan, ON29 December 2016
Only good thing about this place was they had a good group of guys to work with. Last I heard they were all gone and now they are on the lookout for another batch of suckers. Put it this way, this company seems to always be looking for "helpers, apprentices, and journeyman". That alone should tell you something about this place.

They expected you to show up at 630 in the morning to their shop, load the truck, and then go off to the job. Only problem was they that didn't pay you until you got on site and the definitely didn't pay for the ride back to the shop to drop off the truck.
Pros
good co-workers
Cons
Too many to list.
