Very hard work with little rewards

Management is quick to forget sacrifices you make to save the day. Chaotic schedules with very little forecasting. Management is superficial and has little knowledge of the actual resources available to staff. This place need a Union. Great for students and people learning the trade. Very lucrative wages.

Understaffed

Unreasonable staffing in the hotel. Purposely understaffed for the sake of saving money but the expectations are so high. Schedule are being changed last minute so they can write you up. I talk to coworker and same happen in other departments. Like many company they are taking advantage of the pandemic. They need to investigate this place and shut it down

career growth & development career growth & development . The company acknowledges contributions and recognizes committed staff. They help in training and development to promote employees. Career opportunities galore but salary wise average Assignments were very challenging.Very much a competitive corporate culture with many opportunities.

Exciting and fun to work. my co-worker are very helpful in teaching me when I was new in the company. management are very supportive and easy to talk to if you have any question about the company.

they would fire you with no reason middle of low season

Vaughan location is a racist and low quality place, where a manager passes beside you not even saying hello, everyone is with unhappy and gossiping about each other. Human resource manager is coming to work with blue highlight hair color and not even smiling to her co-workers. they would call you to their office beginning of your shift and telling you in a high voice tone that you are terminated middle of low season winter. Shift manager and her favorite agent is always sitting in the office and having long conversation during their busy working times, and so one person have to handle phone calls and checking in the guest one by one.Their food is always left over from conference meetings, aim going forward with my complaints about this company.

Poor management

Management went downhill after a certain point and the entire team suffered. Under paid and overworked with little to no appreciation. Employee turnover was the worst I’ve seen to the point they hired people who were not qualified. Dysfunctional and miscommunication.

You Don't want to work here

Toronto Centre is a toxic culture you do not want to be a part of. Senior staff have lost "hospitality" and are very miserable in their positions. Middle management are clueless and seemed stressed, Upper management is unfriendly and talks about you behind you back, supporting a negative workplace. Rumor is 2 Managers quit on the same day during the summer to work at different hotels because of the negative atmosphere and no support encouraged by upper management. Senior staff appear to be miserable and unfriendly to newer staff. The owners of this location need to clean out the older Management and start fresh to get a more positive and friendly atmosphere.

Great place to work but a few hours

Place is good, but there are no enough hours on a daily basis.Slow during winter. Lunch is provided at the work place, but they subtract part of yur pay to cover for that.

Demanding and fun work environment

Very multicultural work place, everyone is easy going and pleasant to work with. Salary was compatible with similar hotels, but benefits were so so.Hotel is suited in very convenient location that is easily accessible by public transit as well as driving.

amazing hotel with incredibly friendly staff

amazing hotel to be apart of. Clients and Guests always commend the staff on how friendly and helpful everyone is. Great location next to North York centre subway station, access to Starbucks and a food court. Free lunches even include taco days and free ice cream

Very Helpful in the Beginning

This was a backbreaking job in which I gained a better appreciation for housekeepers in general. Too much to do in an 8 hour shift. Elevator will eat up your time and management will not care. Prepare to give up your lunch frequently just to finish your quota. It taught me to be a better guest. Always tip your housekeeper with a drink left inside the fridge. They will appreciate it more than the dollar tip.

Very nice hotel an staff are very friendly and helpful...plus it is also, a place where u can grow in your career management they look after their employees they are so professional and you will learn a lot

Hard work and fun

People talking bad things behind other peoples back, New management is very strict which is good. But i feel like they're hands are tied up by the hotel owner, And they can't do much about it but to follow the bigger boss. That's just how it is everywhere i guess. I could be wrong about it though.
