Over worked and under paid

Would never work there again…ever! No lunches, always short staffed, always stressed, never appreciated. You’re just a person in a chair…filling it.Thrown into a job with two days training. So many different unions fighting each other and management doesn’t care, they are not unionized.

Great work environment

Great support and pay. Government employment with pension and medical! Different sorts pf social work can be explored within the agency. Ex: hospital, community, management...

You definitely need a strong back bone and a will to live if you are going to work there.

What is the best part of working at the company? The best part of working for Horizon is the income potential. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Lack of communication with Management and no support from Management. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It is the most toxic environment I have ever worked in. To succeed it’s definitely a who you know and who can you step on to move up the ladder! What is a typical day like for you at the company? It’s stressful, chaotic, and miserable.

It’s a toxic environment

It’s not uncommon to o be understaffed. The reason there are such staffing issues is because the environment as a whole is pretty negative and toxic. It’s not just one department. It’s everywhere. Management do act like they care about their staff at all. There is not much respect. It’s a terrible place to work. I would not recommend working here.

Good coworkers, uncaring health network

I absolutely loved all of my coworkers and manager. There were plenty of opportunities to complete further education/achieve certificates etc. so incredibly short on resources and staff all the time. Most people are burning out. Left for a new province.

Travel nurse if you can

Staffing is terrible on every unit, replacing nurses with PSW’s, you’re better off becoming a travel nurse and receiving a decent pay. There’s such lack of support from management, injuries not taken seriously..

Great place to work for

Great place and friendly staff. Would highly recommend Moncton city. Parking is an issue and you have to pay 8 dollars a day but the service provided makes it worth it

Would not send my worst enemy there

The culture was horrible. Staffing was so minimal it was scary. I had to correct many paychecks as scheduling always messed up my paychecks. It took me a couple months to get paid for the 24hour online orientation training. It took me 3 months to get the moving bonus promised upon my arrival. I quit within 4 months of moving across the country for this job. I would not recommend working here to my worst enemy.

Pros

Hosuing was affordable

Cons

Scary staff patient ratios, toxic works environment

Good place to work.

Can have a great day working here as Respect is part of the work culture. Your not suppose to earn it here according to management but instead it is given, PERIOD. Most here realize this and are very professional in their attitudes towards one another and truly do show genuine Respect. You do get your bad apples though, so Just Be The Change You Want To See.

Pros

Great work ethic most times.

Cons

A few bad Apples.

Mixed bag

There are both pros and cons of working with horizon. The workloads are often behind due to staff shortages and management does little to help. The union mindset also tends to prevent progress being made. Seems like a cold war between the two constantly.

It could be a productive workplace but it is not in the laboratory. Jealosy and dereliction of duties prevail in the laboratory.

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing. The employees and management are childish and vindictive. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Having an axe blade over your neck each day. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Terrible. Petty fight infighting amongst staff and lack of motivation. FInger-pointing was commonplace. What is a typical day like for you at the company? You showup and keep your head low!

Awful, awful management

It's no secret health care in NB is a joke. Horizon does not care about patients, staff, nurses etc. It's all about how to save money so the CEOs can get a huge bonus at the end of the year.

Pros

Nurses truly care

Cons

Long hours, bad management, no appreciation, bad pay and benefits

Not a great place to be

Not a great place to work when you have things going on. I was having a really rough time and there was no help or pity. I tried so hard to be a good employee and to work hard but nothing was ever good enough. There was a true hirachy there and they didn't like anyone who was not the same stuck up attitude as them.

Terrible workplace

Management is lacking. They sit in their locked offices and try to sneak out without being seen. no involvement with staff until its disciplinary. There is a huge lack of education and resources unless you are a nurse. If you are anything but a nurse, do not expect to be treated even half decently. In my role, they pay is not worth the job as most nurses put their duties onto me and others in my role while they sit on their phones or gossip. Very very toxic workplace

Terrible team environment and management

Very clicky workplace. Nobody wants to help each other but expects you to do their work for them. Management is terrible and doesn't concern themselves with the staff they are suppose to manage. They just sit in their locked office all day. They do not provide adequate resources or education for anyone but nurses. If you are not a nurse, expect to be treated less than poorly.
