The company is fine to work for HOWEVER

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The operations manager has no experience and a huge Ego that has ended several maintenance managers time at this plastic plant. Although he claims to have an education, fails to show any skill or experience in achieving any success in day to day operations. His inability to plan and complete a project of any size, leaves this operation with absolute failure The last 5 maintenance managers have not lasted more than 6 months most of which left inside 2 - 3 months due to his poor people skills. If you have any skill, experience or desire to make any improvement in this operation, Don't waist your time applying as soon as you show you have more skill and experience than he does your days are numbered to less than 6 months. His Ego will not allow you to look better than he is. Don't waist your time applying

12 HOUR Nightshift

The worst managed company I've ever worked for , bosses are in it for their bottom line and have zero disregard for the well being of their employees. any incidents were treated like they were totally normal , complaints about other employees took years to be resolved, co workers were great to work with .

Cons

12 hour Nightshift, horrible management

Job security

Fast paced production. Lots of overtime if you want it. Overall, not overly stressful if you want to work and willing to work shift work. 12hr continental shifts, lots of days off.

Don’t waste your time and safety.

This place is a walking health and safety infraction. It’s also a harassment case waiting to happen, oh wait they would terminate you for complaining about their toxic friends. The senior staff run the facility. There’s a lot of good people that work there, but the miserable toxic ones don’t outweigh the good. It’s not worth a little extra money for a couple months just to lose your job because you don’t fit in with the cousin kissing clique. Save your time and run.

Pros

Going home

Cons

Too many to list.

dead end, go nowhere, lose your life from shift work

production is job one, some work hard while others have it easy, depends on the dept or the machine, co-workers ect... some machines are 30 years old some are new this year very big difference was doing the same thing for a very long time going nowhere. do not expect to move up with this company they only care about their engineers.

Wages good, management and supervisors very ignorant. Good employees otherwise. If I could give a 0 on the management, I would. Management needs improvement on their skills. This company is similar to the good old boys club

It speaks for it self

Warning to any one who is thinking of getting working at this company. This company is like working in a third world country but in a first world setting. They under pay there employee's an abuse them every chance they get. You part of a union not the company. They call it maintaining. If I really need a job an you are desperate they will hire anyone. They have a hard time keeping employees because of the environment an working conditions . Your first day u will get sick because of the burning plastic you will be breatheing in your body will adapt to it an you will no long smell it. Until u go on holidays an come back. If u are going to become an operator dont even bother because they dont have anyone that can train you on the machines probably because they are broken an they dont want to invest an money in to fixing it. I have never seen an operator trainee pass training in 3 years . Poorly ran company. If u are going to be a packer you will be responsible for anything wrong with the bag even though the operators dont care about there jobs an the machines are broken an your operator will get you to pack things you shouldn't so he doesnt have to try an fix the problem an the supervisor will try an get you to pack things that u shouldn't pack just for production numbers then right you up for it. Remember when u bend down to pick up the bags hold you breathe. Manammgent in the office are just as corrupt. The reason why there isnt any other bad reviews is because the plant superintendent ask google to delete them so here's the real deal. Good luck.

Management is good, workers are not.

The job itself was fairly easy, but old employees who’s been there all their lives made the job stressful for new employees. They’re not willing to train and do not share trade secrets. Management is ok but not the old employees.

Very good company

Good company to work but the job security is not ok because its not stable or maybe it just happened that economy is really going down and didn't get a chance to work for a longer time.

Pire endroit ou j’ai travaillé

Les 3 premiere annee ont ete merveilleuse. Les 3 derniere on ete horrible. Nouvelle direction.

Pros

Paie et avantages sociaux

Cons

Above average pay at a cost.

My supervisor was amazing when it came to advancement, and scheduling. They restructured management, and it all went downhill pretty fast. They expect You to fulfill their commitments with no concern to your home life. Most times they would change your schedule without a weeks notice. It is written in the contract with the Association, they are allowed to. This agreement is based out of the 80's. The Association is meant to protect You from the 80's mentality of management, but with no real knowledge of how to go about it. If you like being harassed by management about numbers, this is the place for you.

Pros

Used to have free luncheons once or twice a month, but has since diminished

Cons

Management expect miracles, machines run 24/7 with no PM. Lots of downtime.

Worst employer ever!

This place is pure Garbage!! All they care about is bags per employee!! Safety?? HAHA ZERO. You hurt yourself and management gets their loser leadhand to harass you till you quit! The place is unionized but there’s way too many “union members” kissing managements a-s Absolutely pathetic! They give you no reason to strive and do a better job at all. Way too much favoritism. No chance to get promoted to anything! They spend zero money on equipment or upkeep with their 1950’s machines! It’s like walking into a shop in the 1930’s!!! Run Run Run Run like I did!!

Pros

Money

Cons

Everything is cr-p here!

Awesome people in Paper plant

Hood paper is a cool spot for a Millwright, especially apprentices do to the wide range of experience you will receive from the wide range of equipment you will see. Almost all of the people in leadership roles are great people.

Pros

Wide range of equipment

Cons

On call

Horrible place, run far away

-Supervisors, managers, and HR all seem to be friends so good luck if you ever have a problem -No real safety or ergonomic initiatives which leaves many people injured from repetitive work; feels as though you stepped into a workplace in the 1960s -Unionized environment where everyone is just out for themselves; everyone backstabs, talks about others behind their backs, and no one really helps anyone; highschool type workplace

Pros

wage

Cons

Everything else

Former Employee Maintenance

Employees are great to work with but the management stinks! They want u to work all the time, day, night, evenings and call-ins. Maintenance boss was very hard to get along with and now that he got fired it might be better.

Pros

Good employees to work with.

Cons

Work all the time and Management stinks.

Good pay and benefits, with a lot of bad!

Lacking in organization and management of personnel and production. Unionized environment, good pay and benefits, but lacking in job security for lower seniority employees and classification of jobs. Lacking morale standards of trust, from management and employees, as well as enforcement of safety regulations, and company policies. Inconsistent with employee shift scheduling, causing interruptions with family and personal living. Workplace is unsanitary, for a company producing packaging for human consumables.

Pros

Pay, benefits, paid lunch period, and unionized.

Cons

Mismanaged, lacks morales and honesty, unorganised, too many employees with injuries taking weeks to months off, inconsistent scheduling, unsanitary, inapropriate disposal of waste chemicals.
