Maintenance Manager in Calgary, AB

The company is fine to work for HOWEVER
The operations manager has no experience and a huge Ego that has ended several maintenance managers time at this plastic plant. Although he claims to have an education, fails to show any skill or experience in achieving any success in day to day operations. His inability to plan and complete a project of any size, leaves this operation with absolute failure The last 5 maintenance managers have not lasted more than 6 months most of which left inside 2 - 3 months due to his poor people skills. If you have any skill, experience or desire to make any improvement in this operation, Don't waist your time applying as soon as you show you have more skill and experience than he does your days are numbered to less than 6 months. His Ego will not allow you to look better than he is. Don't waist your time applying

12 HOUR Nightshift
The worst managed company I've ever worked for , bosses are in it for their bottom line and have zero disregard for the well being of their employees. any incidents were treated like they were totally normal , complaints about other employees took years to be resolved, co workers were great to work with .

Job security
Fast paced production. Lots of overtime if you want it. Overall, not overly stressful if you want to work and willing to work shift work. 12hr continental shifts, lots of days off.

Don’t waste your time and safety.
This place is a walking health and safety infraction. It’s also a harassment case waiting to happen, oh wait they would terminate you for complaining about their toxic friends. The senior staff run the facility. There’s a lot of good people that work there, but the miserable toxic ones don’t outweigh the good. It’s not worth a little extra money for a couple months just to lose your job because you don’t fit in with the cousin kissing clique. Save your time and run.

dead end, go nowhere, lose your life from shift work
production is job one, some work hard while others have it easy, depends on the dept or the machine, co-workers ect... some machines are 30 years old some are new this year very big difference was doing the same thing for a very long time going nowhere. do not expect to move up with this company they only care about their engineers.

They asked a lot of questions about previous employers, what your 10 year plan looks like, they ask if You know anyone that works here. Why you're leaving your job etc. Pretty basic interview questions.
