A great company...started as an individual contributor (an engineer) and finished off as a regional manager. Honeywell had to keep up with the times so from 2003 to 2016, you could see changes that were tough to understand.

Top heavy with management - people who love to use acronyms and buzzwords to appear knowledgeable and are generally clueless only looking to springboard to their next position . Rarely will you see a manager in place for longer than 2 - 3 years. Management does not actually make any decisions but are strictly guided by a group of pseudo excellence experts without real world experience. lots of intelligent hardworking people low in the chain of command are the key to any successes
Pros
parking
Cons
management

Large organization but run efficiently and processes are in place to coordinate global activities. Very good engineers and senior managers in Honeywell Aerospace division.

Need to choose subcontractors more carefully. Because staff size is kept small, many of the operations are outsourced. Outsourcing happens with outside organizations. These are organizations that the company operates with around the world. If unfortunately, the local contractors are not efficient or capable, it becomes a nightmare for the staff, because the local contractors know there is no way out for them.
Pros
Good working culture
Cons
Focus is on internationalness rather then focusing locally.

I enjoyed my time here...loved my boss..only left because promotional opportunities were limited in Canada. Typical 8 hour workday except for month ends but strong co-operative culture when I was working there.

Bad senior leadership Heavy emphasis on cost cutting / cost controls - including regular emails about NOT purchasing office supplies Repeated forced days off without pay Repeated delays in annual cost of living adjustments - and repeated no salary adjustment years. Extensive delays and paperwork in staff replacements and repeated periods of hiring freezes
Pros
Salary is okay but not leading
Cons
Poor senior leadership

As long as you get the job done, management leaves you alone. Does not micro manage. A lot of good people to work with and takes pride of their jobs.

You can learn a lot of things about BAS and Security System as well as fire alarm system. The payment is good and they give you a company vehicle, a company cellphone and a company laptop.

They are a good place right out of school but growth is not a thing. Empty promises keep you engaged but nothing comes from them.

high stress, immediate boss may know nothing about your job and provide worst possible advice. keep excellent documentation, people get thrown under the bus. some people do provide honest practical advice, you have to find and cultivate these people. hours can get bad. in house training is very good, but they are condensing this very hard.
Pros
rate of pay, exposure to new methods, in house training
Cons
long overtime hours without pay, stress

A typical day at work would start off by updating sales from the day before, continuing on with regular routines. This was a co-op placement, so I was only at this job for a couple of hours a day. I had met new people, and it was something I will never forget. The hardest part of the job was waking up early to go to it, I had to be there for 7:30am. The part that I enjoyed the most, is the number of skills I had learned and the things I learned about myself.
Cons
early hours
