Communication transparency. Partner with your team. Management must ensure DMs are present on the floor (visible leadership) and not patronizing store leads. Take compensation off the table for high performers. The wages are low. Revisit the scale. You pay in peanuts, you’ll get monkeys. Want lions? You’ll just have to throw a meaty steak.
More people working. It's always understaffed. And a complete renovation of the store. If it's a home renovation store, it should be a good role model to customers.
Definitely only hire people who have interest of what they do and not just because its their job.
Time to time do a store visit in plain cloths and see how management handling the store and how to treat their staff.
Transparency, no favouritism, fair distribution of work. No nonsense attitude towards certain types of employees.
I would pay for people fork lift training that can't afford it
Discuss the area of interest with work force and based on the ability and interest train them to reach the carrer path.
