The company is rapidly growing and provides some job security, however the growth comes with added duties and expectations. High turnover within the company results in undefined duties and sometimes results in a feeling of being stretched thin. The company is very vocal about equality but that only goes so far.Many different cultures represented by the company, but if you were born and raised in Canada you may feel out of place. Many different languages being spoken in production areas, but rarely are co-workers speaking English .I recommend the company, but its not for everyone.

Worst owners in history

The owners has no idea what they are doing. They are rude, disrespectful, and fires you whenever they feel like it that adds work to the great co-workers. People are miserable at work everyday whenever they are around...the rest of the times it's great when they are not here. Great stepping stone of a company but terrible for your future so get in and out as fast as you can. If you can find a job anywhere else save yourself from this company.

I generally enjoyed my time at Herbaland. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the team I was able to work with each and every day. But leadership is old school. Low pay, no trust in employees

Good learning opportunity with bad management

Working at herbaland was good at the beginning, loved the co-workers and QA manager. But it got bad eventually with management being biased and I was over-worked without any acknowledgement. Pay is low in terms of the work you need to do. The upper management's approach of dealing with the situation was very unprofessional. Would not recommend unless you need experience to start off with.

The work involves the following: ensuring compliance with different regulatory bodies; formulate recipes; organize sensory, lab trials and over-see production scale-up processes; manage production on a day-to-day basis; production troubleshooting; draft NPN applications; drafting marketing materials; research ingredients & be up-to-date with current trends and new technologies; coordinate between departments to arrange production; source raw materials, and many more functions that cross with other departments. This type of work yields a lot of valuable experience....However, the company pays way below average wage for the volume of work and the responsibilities given; stress levels are often quite high. Management fails to properly acknowledge and retain talent, resulting in high turnover rates of office employees. The vision of the company is not all that clear; morals are sometimes pushed to the side; health and safety of both employees and customers are often low priority. There's a general sense that revenue is more important than maintaining and improving quality.

Wish didn't work there

4 stars for co-workers, 0 star for the owner. 100% agreed with all previous comments about cameras and management (owner). I have experienced it and wish did not apply there. Unless if you are desperate looking for a job, please look somewhere else. One day owner love you, next day you are fired without warning or explanation and mess up your life.

If you like to feel like being a lab rat, this is the one. Owner is EXTREEMLY OBSESSED with his CCTV cameras that he had them installed in every corner in office. What a freak. Also, HR, please learn on how to speak better English. You sounds like you are eating and trying to speak at the same time.

The company uses the help of surveillance cameras to improve the security and safety of our employees. The surveillance cameras are not hidden, all employees are told about the purpose and rationale of it. Herbaland won the Consumers Product award at the BC Export Award recently and without the company’s constant improvements, our employees hard work and dedication this wouldn't have been possible. Poor management

Being in a smaller-sized business meant doing more and learning more from the role. There was clearly a management issue at the time. I left 2+ years ago so I'm not aware of the current state but hopefully they've improved. Most colleagues were a pleasure to work with.

I love my job!

I am very proud of the products that we create here and have enjoyed getting to share my work with my family. The brand is fun and colourful. The coworkers I have met here are all amazing people, and I love that there are so many friendly smiles when I walk into the building each day! The company really cares about giving back to the community and supporting social causes, which I am proud to be a part of. Things change quickly here, because the company is growing quickly! This is a good job for people who are flexible and manage change well and can think fast. I actually truly love my job with Herbaland. This is not my first job and, while things may not always be perfect or I may not always agree with management, it has been clear to me that they are always doing their best to look after their team and make this a positive place to work.

A good place for rats on a circus wheel

Bad management. No one will train you properly. They will get you to work right away without exercising on what you need to do. No orientation. You will slave yourself on 10 hours shift for a 30 minutes break. Good things: Co-workers were nice. Neat place. Some free cake and the owner looks like he's either high on drugs or just very sleepy all the time. You will feel like a lab rat working on a wheel under surveillance on your whole shift. Expect to work sluggish after you get drain out of your mind especially graveyard. Machinery breaks frequently and you end up doing things manually by hands. Got sack for having an emergency issue.

Productive and fun place to work!

Herbaland has been one of the best jobs and best work environments I have ever had. The owners of the company are kind, hardworking people who do their best to make sure all of the employees feel valued. There is a lot of room to grow here, especially if you are the type of person who can take initiative, work independently, and solve problems. My teammates at Herbaland are all wonderful, fun people, and we enjoy having lunch together. It's a nice office environment where everyone is working hard, but it is still just relaxed enough where you get the opportunity to chat with and care about one another. The company is growing quickly, and things do change around here, but it is all part of an effort to grow the company and improve the processes.
